Engine bars V Crash bungs
« on: 14 August 2012, 01:21:05 pm »
Having got a belly pan fitted I was told that the Yamaha bars would not fit and crash bungs were the only solution.

Is there any other bars that would do the job with out modifying the belly panel?

Are crash bungs a good solution?

I am thinking of doing gymkhana with the bike so low speed spills are highly likly.

I have bungs fitted but for out and out protection, I feel that good engine bars afford greater protection for what you have in mind. You could always remove your bellypan temporarily until you've got the gymkhana out of your system.

Good point, seams a lot of work.

There must be another solution.
Thanks though.  :)

Why risk expensive damage to your #1 ride competing as a novice in gymkhana?  Surely better to buy a lighter, cheaper hack which you can rig up properly to be dropped on a regular basis without denting your wallet? :)

Cheap hack! Got one, the (wife's  ;) R6) little bit quick on the turn in, not so agile, sharpened my skills though. Weapon of traffic distruction  :D

Bungs are sounding better at present.
