One thing I have noticed is that my fazer8 runs up to temp quite quickly when standing in traffic - never had a temp guage in the old one, normal?

Sounds normal to me. My FZ1 will quickly boil itself in standing traffic and on a warm day it can take less than a minute until the fan has to kick in (think that happens at about 100+ degrees).

No worries. As long as the fan cuts in eventually and the temp doesn't really go above 110 degrees (prob less to be honest), you'll be fine

Mine usually runs at 76-82c whilst moving but goes up to 100c at a standstill or in slow traffic, then the fan kicks in.
