FZS 1000 Headers?
« on: 06 April 2020, 11:31:05 pm »
Just curious about the header downpipes, I know the exhaust flanges and collars are mild steel but what kind of material are the downpipes?  They are often quoted as "stainless steel", but as I am involved in engineering where we use a lot of stainless material, this stuff seems to be as poor as it can possibly get,  Piss poor in fact!  P.S. Anyone know what the pipe wall thickness of these are?

Mine are definitely stainless - at least down to the exup collector box. Not sure on thickness.

Double-walled, I believe.  Definitely stainless.  Not the greatest quality but will stay in good nick for years if cleaned and polished occasionally.

As Falcon says double walled, apparently to prevent bluing.
