As promised here are my results.
About a minute after a 5 mile run in the cool morning air:-
Cyl. head 85
Barrel just above crankcase 75
Ex. pipe near head 165
collector 75
Water temperature 80 after stopping. Just below 80 before stopping.
After 45 miles by which time it was about 18 deg. ambient and a bit of slow riding to a parking space at Oulton Park :-
Cyl. head 97
Barrel above crankcase 87
Ex. pipe near head 165
Collector 82 - 103 depending where I measured it.
Water temperature 85. Was showing 80 before I stopped the engine.
I was a bit surprised to find the fins on the cylinder head a bit hotter than the water temperature in the thermostat housing. That is where the temp. probe is situated in place of the switch probe.
The silver head cover measured 67 and my mates FZS1000 cyl head measured a bit cooler than my 600. But then he probably thinks he is cooler than me anyway
