Tuesday to today. 1415 miles.
Kintyre western coast:
Looking across the sound to Jura:
Campbeltown harbour:
Davas(?) Island:
Arran from Kintyre eastern coast:
From the bridge at North Ballachulish:
Invergarry viewpoint:
Loch Cluanie:
Five Sisters of Kintail:
From Gairloch, and points north on the coast road:
Ullapool:
Still going north:
Pools, lagoons and lochans:
A sense of scale:
North coast:
Looping around Loch Eriboll:
Kyle of Tongue:
Couldn't let red98 say he's been further than me!
And the obligatory:
Heading south again:
Castle Urquhart, Loch Ness:
Around the Cairngorms:
Braemar castle:
Schiehallion, Tay Forest:
Loch Tay at Kenmore:
Alongside Loch Tay, heading for Crianlarich:
I stayed in B&Bs for one night each at Ardrishaig, Ullapool, Thurso and Nethy Bridge. Just had to grab the good weather, but this'll be the last time this year for me, I reckon.

Excellent photos, thanks for posting. You certainly know what buttons to press on a camera. Glad the weather was kind to you.

Thanks again for the compliments on the pics chaps. Nothing to do with knowing my way around a camera Robbo. I have previously had an interest in watercolour landscape painting, and although I didn't get far with it, I learned a little bit about composition. So all I do is line up the shot and press one button. If they come out good, I use them, but plenty don't. People like me are the bane of the professional photographer

All down to this high pressure centred over Scandinavia - looks like there'll be a few more days of it yet if anyone wants to scoot up there now. Hmmm, Scandinavia...now that'd be what I'd do if I had the energy; get a boat over to Norway for a few days there. I don't think there's much of Britain I haven't explored now, so next year I might have to do just that, and there's always Ireland. I had tinkered with the idea of doing another Europe trip this year, but in the end, I couldn't be bothered with the long ride to get to the more interesting places. Had a lot of aches and pains towards the end of each day's riding on this trip. Worth it though. The sense of remoteness in that open landscape is something even the Alps can't offer from what little I've seen of those mountains; Scotland truly is world class in the scenery stakes, even though it's mountains aren't on a world-beating scale.
It did get a bit chilly in places. At Dunnet Head and John O' Groats, the wind was biting hard. Took me a couple of hours to warm through again at the hotel in Thurso that evening. In more sheltered spots it was pretty warm though.

WTF
Lol, I knew someone would do something with that, as it's the first thing I thought! Didn't see any boat make that wake in the water either
