Squeak on power take up
« on: 23 September 2016, 03:15:55 pm »
Hi All, haven't investigated this yet but wondering if anybody has some thing similar. I'm getting an intermittent, slight squeak that feels drive train related on my 03 bike. At first i thought it was something to do with the clutch as it seemed to happen intermittently when it engaged. But i can sometimes get the same thing coming on and off the throttle gently at low speeds. The chain is well oiled, i wondered whether the cush rubbers can ever get noisy? It's inconsistent and hard to replicate, any thoughts welcome!

I had something similar on my last bike and was obsessed that it was the head bearings.... turned out to be the horn had come loose and was making contact with one of the infill panels under the headlight. But it only squeaked after I'd washed it and it had some moisture on it. Drove me mad for weeks and in the end just needed to turn a screw to fix haha
