Low power at higher speed issue
« on: 08 September 2016, 07:04:18 pm »
Hi

I live in the channel Island which has a top speed of 40mph and have a FZS1000.
I am on a trip to Ireland today via France. I did get the bike serviced a month ago.

While I was riding my bike today I had an issue where the bike at 60mph would lose rpm when I opened fully. I had to release a bit to get the higher speed and the most I could achieve today was 87mph.

I also had an issue where the bike would not start when I turned it off in the queue for the boat to Ireland and I had to jump start it with a portable jump start I had.

Does anybody have any ideas what my issue might be?

Thanks Brian

Check that you don't have something obstructing the air snorkel on the air filter lid.  My guess is you've stored waterproofs or documents in that handy space just in front of the air intake. :)

You wouldn't be the first LOL!

As Falcon says most likely something blocking the air way under the seat.

If your still in trouble when you get to Ireland and heading Cork way let me know and I can have a look at it for for you  :thumbup
