Maybe tomorrow......
« on: 04 September 2016, 02:21:34 pm »
Who knows, I might own a 2006 /55 plate Fazer 1000.

Currently own a Triumph Sprint GT that I only bought in June. Lovely bikes but I really can't get on with the riding position, kills my wrists. Thought about rising the bars but apparently they then hit the fairing on full lock. Also, that tank gets in the way of my gut!!

So, I've found a Fazer 1000 on a 55 plate. Looks really clean and pretty much standard apart from hugger, belly pan and heated grips.

Question is chappies, am I making a good choice with a Fazer? I just want a comfortable ride, bit of poke and reliability.
Opinions, good or bad greatly accepted.

Name is Nigel, live in Dorset and a Paramedic.
I've got no interest in meeting any of you professionally please.

PS:  Tried out a Gen 2 yesterday. Loads of power, very snatchy with the throttle though, handled well but no way would my mrs like that pillion seat and footpeg position.

Had a 2003 Triumph Sprint for 5 years, but had enough of it cutting out if going over 5000 rev's not fun when going into a slow corning with the back wheel locked up.
Now have a 2002 1000 Fazer, what a machine nice riding position, more power than I will ever use.
done the shock up grade now goes round corners like its on rails

Thanks for the reply.  My sprint is the 2010. Hopefully can do a deal with the dealer tomorrow. I'll post some pics if I get it. Seems like the shock change is well advised.

I've had both the Gen 1, and Gen 2 bikes both tuned up to the max, and I can safely say I preferred the Gen 1 any day!!!

Compared to the Sprint it'll certainly be a different ride. Just get a decent saddle for the Gen 1, and you'll be all day comfy, not to mention enjoying the ride more!!

Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!
