Chain oiler

I'm possibly looking at adding a chain oiler to the bike. I had a Tutoro on my last one and once I set it up it seemed to do the job well enough. Just wondered where people have there's fitted so it's secure and not likely to get in the way of me or my pilly.

I have the Scottoiler touring mounted behind the number plate. Perfect.

Which Tutoro did you have? I had the 'automatic' one with the sprung weight, but found it a bit unreliable. Now got the manual one on one of my bikes. Works fine but doesn't hold much and you have to remember to turn it on and off.


Got the V system Scottoiler on both other bikes. I find it 100% reliable. You have to have somewhere to plug in the vacuum feed though. Carb FZS600 simple, on one of the balancing plugs. Fuel injected bikes may not be so simple. Have a look at the Scottoiler site for model specific instructions.


V system is £95 new, but makes chains and sprockets last many more times.

The Tutoro version I had was the automatic one. Pit of a pain to set up at first. I'm not sure how the vacum versions would hook up to a gen two been Fi?

I was lucky enough to source a scottoiler esystem for £100 but there's a loobman system tucked away in my garage somewhere if anyone wants it for postage costs.

Fitted the auto Tutoro under the main seat on the RHS used the curved mounting bracket so the unit sits vertically with the top just flush with the frame. Ran the tubing in front of the shock and clamped it to the LHS frame, including the excess tube.

Then ran the solo tube on the inside of the main frame just above the chain.

Works a treat and easy to fill, plus you can see when its getting low.

Thanks for the feedback. I was speaking to friend about this and he had a spare oiler going and I'll have a go at fitting it at the weekend  :)
