focced my phone
« on: 31 December 2015, 04:16:44 pm »
Does anyone know how to fix phones? My phone has a standard sim and i bought a new sim to go with a new phone. EE sent the wrong one! They sent a nano sim instead of a micro sim. I can't use my new phone. I took my standard sim out of my phone to check it compared to the nano sim, then put it back in and i cant send or receive txts. It says i can only make emergency calls? What's happened, as basically i have taken the sim out and then put it back in and it won't work....
If it's broken, it's not fixed.

it's not working? you don't need a sim in to call 999. clean the contacts that might do it. use some clean stiff paper?

Did you transfer your telephone number to the new sim?

Complete fabrication, I didn't make it up!

They could have disabled your old one so when you took it out it now can't reconnect to the network. The sim cards are all the same really so you could pack out the nano sim to fit in the correct position in your phone and it will work

It seems that they must have disabled it. How can i pack out a nano to fit a micro? That way i don't need to pack it out to fit my standard one and i can just use my new phone. I specifically asked for 'other' phone in there drop down menu, so they would send me both the micro and nano, but the arseholes at ee only sent a nano. I think when i get back from my hols i will go direct to an ee shop. Hopefully they will be able to supply me the parts to pack it out. (I won't be paying!) Wankers.

You do get adopters to go from a nano to a micro or normal
Sim, even if you needed to buy it they are only about £1

you can pack it out be either cutting your own adapter with a razor blade (or slivers to go above and each side) from an old card/store card etc

An adaptor is best but in a pinch you can cut your own, I have a cutter somewhere (I used to fix phones) that can cut adapters or trim existing SIMS to whatever you need.

All the big stores will sell the adaptors, Curry's, PC World, Maplins, etc, for about 3 quid, or just find any mobile phone shop, or one of the cheap injun shops that sell phone parts.
They're all out there waiting for you.  :lol
