ARMR MOTO
« on: 17 April 2015, 07:32:10 pm »
" Good evening.

My name is Adam and I am a twenty six year old quality manager from Greater Manchester. I recently started a new job on the 28th of June 2014 and use my motorcycle for the 22 mile each way commute. Around four weeks in to the job I decided I needed new kit as the kit I was using was starting to look aged and weathered being five plus year old, a spent approximately another two weeks looking and after reading review after review eventually decided on an ARMR KISO size XL jacket for £99.99 with a free pair of ARMR HARA size 2XL trousers in with the deal. Both were advertised as waterproof but six weeks after purchasing during their first contact with rain I discovered that was untrue as they didn't last five minutes, I turned up for work soaked!

Now apart from the pants not being waterproof I can't really fault them, the jacket however is a different story! None of the Velcro sticks the pockets have ripped open the zips are poor at best and the push studs are rusting. I have attached some photo's below. I must stress that I look after my gear as much as possible and only wear it as intended, ie on my commute to work and not to go white water rafting, ski jumping, paint balling or scuba diving. To say I'm disappointed in the jacket would be an under statement and I now feel its at the point where its dangerous to wear whilst riding due to the main Velcro seam down the middle not sticking and flapping around like no mans business in the wind causing great instability whilst riding.

I have to ask myself am I asking too much for the price I paid and I honestly don't think I am. I just feel that the rapid wear and tear doesn't reflect the amount of use the jacket has had compared to my last one going five plus years strong and only tiring on looks not performance. I hope you have found my feedback constructive, perhaps it may highlight / identity a bad batch from production?

Kindest regards,
Adam."

Was my complaint, Today I received what they offered below:

"Good Morning Adam,

Alex has asked me to liaise with you regarding some replacement items of clothing.

If it’s ok with you we would like to replace your current jacket and trousers with some upgraded kit.

Would this jacket be ok for you?

and these trousers?

If so could you let me have address details to send the items to?

Thanks"

No need to prove purchase or mess about sending things back 24 hours afyer accepting their offer the stuff arrived, looks good too!

If their kit is half as good as their customer service I'd be well impressed.

Proof is in the writing too, some kit says waterproof,  but in the writing of description etc you might see it says it's only waterproof if all layers are worn etc.
I've had my kit about 8 years now (only used for 5 years and been in loft last 3 years), all goretex, but only thing that's looking tired is the jacket, which I believe is understandable considering, but it's still working and being a canny Scot, I'll try and hold onto it a bit more.

But as I originally said, their customer service sounds amazing :-)

Quality complaining! On a separate note I got an Alpinestars dyno textile jacket for £100 about 3 years ago & it's still waterproof (unless it's absolutely bucketing down in which case there is a bit of seepage) although no trousers were included. A pair of waterproofs from Lidl has done me proud though.

Treat everything in life the way a dog would- if you can't eat it or foc it, forget it.
