i best go check mine! What could cause the clutch to be so dry but the oil level to be over-flowing - something blocked?
Gravity.
From first impressions, the colour of that oil looks old and almost muddy, so i'm guessing that it's lost protective qualities and become thinner and non sticky, which is why you're not seeing any oil on the plates as it's quickly draining to the bottom.
As i said above, you should start the bike for 30 seconds which will coat the whole engine with oil, then you check the level when it settles in the window, i normally try for two thirds up between the lower/upper oil level markers.
Oil in this poor condition will not coat the engine so gravity will just make it immediately fall downwards, giving you a false overfull reading, plus doing sod all to lubricate your engine parts.
It needs replacing rather sharpishly, and no doubt your filter too.
I'll hazard a guess when you empty your sump it'll flow out like water rather than oil.
When you put new oil in you can start with exactly 2.5 litres without fear of overfilling, then start engine for 30 seconds, let it settle, then top up
gradually, a little at a time, then start engine again, etc, repeating the process until you're happy with the level in the window.
With a new filter you'll be looking at roughly 2.7 litres, but take your time, and don't overfill.
