new bike, new mods
« on: 19 March 2015, 11:27:45 pm »
Well guys and dolls, I'm new to foccerland, but not new to biking, just getting back into it after a few years off, great getting back and tinkering with a bike again, love it!
Done a couple of mods already and be doing some more once I search more of this helpful site.
I've enclosed a couple of pics, as they speak louder than I could explain lol
Happy foccing.

That's exactly what they are!
Wired into the parking/side light. Used some solder and heat shrink.
So now I've got lights that people see the bike, all I need now is decent lights for me to see now lol
What were you wanting to know about them rhinoeli?

Maybe a pic of them turned off? Where are they fitted? Can't see them on the other pictures of your bike.

I'm not liking those Paul, I've ordered a couple of ring bulbs that I hope are better than orsam and live upto to write ups I've seen.

Here's a couple of pics for you of them turned off, I fitted them in my garage! Lol
Seriously, I just put them on side of radiator, I personally think they look really good but I do wish I knew what they look like from a distance, maybe need to get my mate to ride it towards me at some point to find out.

you could order 50000w bulbs it would still be bad, its the shitty reflectors on the fzs that make the lighting so bad.

either new lights completely, hid or projector lights.

in my bike in the thread with the spots ive got a 100w white bulb and a osram nightbreaker with the little bowl removed to allow more light and as you can tell its hopeless, the standard lights give terrible lighting.

spotlights are the cheapest and easiest.
new headlight unit means removing fairing.
hid is about £60 or so and illegal.
projectors are around £150 and involve cutting the original headlight to fit.

each to their own though.

i have my spots wired into high beam and on low beam its enough to cope with normal riding at night, on  high beam its like riding in the day.

What do you reckon Paul?
This was a HID H1 I have in my car, just thought I'd try it in the bike to see the difference,  legal or not, being able to see is more important really, I've spoken to a few traffic cops I know and they say as long as your not blinding people,(or riding in such a way as to draw attention) you would not be pulled for just having HID'S on your bike.
