« on: 12 February 2015, 07:30:45 pm »
Anyone else do this sometimes?

sold my spare engine to some guy who uses his on the track as a race bike.

i race mine about a little now and then, knee downs wheelies the usual...
with the warmer weather coming im tempted to take it on the track....

(i took an xj 600 diversion to lydden many times)

Anyone else out there treat their fazer like a race bike?

disclaimer: I dont go full throttle everywhere all the time i ride sensible untill twisties :D

I treat every bike I ride like a race bike, even the current 250 work bike, which is well fun!

No. Never. I never break any speed limits. I try my damnedest not to enjoy riding, and just concentrate on being safe and boring.

You do realize that your number plate is readable on your wheelie photo

Does anyone who owns even a vaguely sporty bike not like to go racing about?

yeah but as stated, 100% private road not "private"

Isnt the farmer likely to come at you with a shot gun for "worrying" his sheep

WHeelie's also aren't illegal! You can just be done for them under dangerous driving  ;)

I also like to keep mine pinned @ 8000rpm+
Its engine DNA is substantially derived from sporty Yamahas such as the FZR600R and T'Cat.
Often (mis)labelled as a commuter, but only because it has bouncy suspension, conventional bars, a centre stand and does 50mpg.
But fit decent tyres, fix the sh1t suspension and it becomes much closer to being an upright Sportsbike.

i dont find the fazer suspension too bad but im pretty slim, when im 2 up and hit a lump it is like being on a trampoline but i should imagine itll stay planted on a hard bend at high speed.

seems the ideal weight on the fazer is 9.5-10.5 stone lol.

maybe thats why the rear pillion pegs are so high its made for small people.

I eat like a small burrowing animal and I just can't put on weight, works for me, I can go faster than the big predators like cats and use less energy than a Duracell bunny  :D
