thinking of a change, what do you think i should be asking for my bike, its an 06 with 19.5K on the clock i would say it is in very good condition it has PR3 tyres the front less than 1K and back approx 2K and bmw shock all of the mods were carried out by myself. it has a full mot.

See what a dealer will give you buy in and PX, add 3-400 quid plus a bit for wiggle room and see how you go.
Do have the original fairing etc and is it in good condition, otherwise people wil assume you have fallen off and you will be lucky to get two grand ( if that)

Oh and if you ask why I say that is because the last three bikes I have had the dealer offered me 100-300 quid less than the private sale price in MCN. I just PXed to save the hassle

Very much doubt you'd get anything near guide price for a bike that's had the fairing and pillion footrests removed, if you can put the bike back to stock then you'd be much better off, otherwise I think you'd be very lucky to get £2k as it is.

I dunno what you would get for the bike, but for the right money you wouldn't struggle to shift the trick bits that are on it. There's not a great deal of difference price wise to most buyers between buying stock and buying modded, so stripping the toys off it and selling them seperste could get you a bit more in the long run (all be it with a bit more hassle).

i was just testing the water as it were, i would not expect to get full price ie £3000+ but i would be looking for about £2750 i certainly wound'nt let it go for £2000, the fairing was complete when removed and sold to a member of the forum so i cant refit it, i have the rear footpegs but as SWMBO does not go on the back i removed them as i think it looks better, there is also a bracket and top box that would go with it and the standard exhaust can and two set of dog bones. if anyone is interested you can get in touch.

What most people want (and dealers) is as near standard as possible -that would be book price. I doubt if you'll get more than £2500 for it without the fairing and probably nearer £2000. A major part of the bodywork missing is a major put off, for private buyers too.

Unfortunately when I sold my last bike I realised no one pays for mods and sometimes they work against you. A lot of the time it's best to take them off and sell separately and put the bike to stock, but you're not in that position unfortunately.

It's also entering the buyers season, i.e. prices drop in Autumn/winter as buyers know prices drop at this time of year.

Don't mean to be too negative, but It's a case of eBay and seeing if someone loves it enough to give the asking price.
