Swing arms not right, eeeek!

For how long its been, not right, i dont know  :eek .

Just giving the bike a wash, found that the off side chain adjuster wasnt tight, felt the nuts, locked together but the thread moved in and out a mm or two.

so round to the chain to check the slack, then i notice the swing arm move side to side slightly, grab hold of it and oh dear thats not right! at the near side it looked totally slack allowing the arm to move side to side with little force, so i tigthen the nut on the pivot shaft to 115nm as the manual says, no different!

bearings gone perhaps? any ideas?

just what i didnt need on a sunday evening!

If I understand right.thats got to be sa bearings......is the bike stable at speed ?....to know for sure, remove the rear wheel.disconnect the spring and try to move the sa by holding the two ends......if they are shot its a easy job and not expensive....done the thou a while back, search my posts, and you'll find some piccies and waffle   :lol

Hey Fizzy, by all means go down the bearing replacement.

BUUUUUUUUt............if you want a cheap swingarm off me ill do you special deal...many many bargains.

I think I have peaked on selling enthusiasm now and the big lumpy bits like the swing arm are so expensive to post to make them economical for sellers to buy.....how the foc these ebay folk do it I don't know but anyhow im in Wales and there isn't a courier around every street corner....we hardly have any shops never mind couriers.

So just to make it worthwhile me taking the thing off and cleaning it you can have it for the princely sum of £15.....and either you sort out some postage for it or you accept whatever price it ends up being at the post office via parcelforce.

Just another option for ya........the bearings were replaced last year....the central sleeve plus the needle bearings each end.......I think once you take bearings out then they are knackered but I haven't taken them out...I just disconnected the swing arm....so you could just drop out your swing arm and then replace it with this one and then get it all adjusted properly and bobs yur uncle.

just another option
