Gen 1 Thou EXUP valve parts prices (Take a seat!)

OMG!!!!

I know that this has been the topic of much discussion already over the years, but after deciding to service my EXUP valve again before winter sets in, I decided to get some parts prices for the various components.

I was only after a new spacer for the inner end of the valve itself, but got some prices for the bushes at both ends as well. Feast your eyes on this little lot from Yamaha................

Spacer (inner end of valve) = £11.20 PLUS VAT
Bush (inner end of valve / end plate / both the same) = £30.80 each PLUS VAT
End plate = £89.20 PLUS VAT
EXUP Valve itself = £282.32 PLUS VAT

I was only comforted (a little), when he told me that I guy recently asked for a price for a GSXR1000K3 fairing side panel and was quoted well over £500 for it!!!

Hope this doesn't push the prices of used EXUP componentry on this site to fellow Foccers???

What material are the bushes made of? Can't be that hard to make a couple up if a suitable material is to hand.

Does anyone have any bushes they can send me to check, we use a material analyser at work, it will tell u what type of material it is in seconds!! Uses low dose xrays to check the material content! Simples. Or if you wait till i do the exup again next year!

The old PMI machine will give result in seconds.
Did you ever use the old spectrometer type which you had to "arc" against the material to get a reading ?

Nope, never used the old ones, we use the Niton Analyser. great bit of kit
