I remember when I was a yoot me and an old mate used to race each other up and down Trundleys Road on identical bikes from New Cross to Rotherhithe Tunnel and back again... all evening long. This was the standard riding position for the straights. The bikes were Yamaha U50 step throughs.

Quick translation - he was an old time (1940's I think) speed record holder on a bike, wore just bathing trunks and sandals with legs and feet dangling over the back of the bike - famous poster in the US
