Touch up paint for frame
« on: 24 October 2013, 07:35:24 pm »
Has anyone found a good touch up paint for the frame? I have a few rust spots that I'd like to tidy up but assume it's not as easy as bodywork touch up paint, don't want to do a full strip and re-coat.

rs paint is too soft, doesn't dry without direct heat and costs a fortune. it is also under too much pressure in the can, so all in all it's really quite difficult to achieve good results using it.

if you can find a local paint factors to make a good match then that's preferable, unfortunately it's not such an easy colour to match.

it's about time yamaha released a paint code for it.

Not used the aerosols , just the touch ups , I found the colour match very good , used a hair dryer between coats , and the lacquer after .

A good tip for touching up paintwork is if you have a spray can shake can then spray a small quantity into the cap and use a small touch up brush. Halfords can supply you a fine touch up brush usually free of charge. :)
