Tyres

Okay I am sure this has been done to death.
I am coming across to England from Spain at the end of the month, sadly in the car. The price of tyres out here in Spain is extremely expensive , so while in the UK I was thinking might as well get some tyres to bring back out with.
What is the peoples choice, I have had PR2's on other bikes , my current Fazer is running Bridgestones BT 020, not keen on them truth be known. Never had PR2's on my other fazer I had anyone running PR2's. The PR3's look to be more rain suited.
been on e bay and some good deals on pairs anyone tried the Conti Road attacks £185 . front and back?

I use Conti Road Attacks on my Fazer 600 and they are really well suited to the bike. Plenty of grip and feel for a sub 100bhp bike. I use PR2's on the Gen 1 1000 and the same thing applies really but for a 100bhp + bike. I would recommend both and come renewal time I will buy the same again if they are available. The Conti Road Attacks are well priced too in my opinion  ;)
Yamaha Fazer 'the only bike you'll ever need' maybe ???

Had PR 3's fitted about 1000 miles ago, they are a very good tyre. I really rate them  :)

Mine has just had them 020's off, and Conti Road Attack 2's on, £233 fitted.

020's had 3k miles, (a fair chunk of M-way and dual carriageway in that mileage), back were badly squared, front had some life left if (very) slightly unevenly worn.
Haven't had chance to properly test RA2 yet though, will put post up when I do. Pirelli Angel ST is currently being replaced, maybe worth seeing if you can bag a bargain on them.

Had Bt021 on and was not confident on them but went for the BT023 and they are outstanding. I is throwing the bike around and am very confident in them both dry and wet. Been on for 1500 miles but this time higher PSI as set by the garage. They were cheep as well due to new T30 been released.

PR2s here also.  I'm not the fastest rider but they seem nice in the wet and dry and the last for aaaaaaaaaaaages.  I got 21k out of the last front, 13k out of the rear before a puncture killed it.

I've not had any issues with PR 2's wet or dry and they last well but I don't feel I get enough feedback from them & find turn in slow.
Recently fitted Avon Storm Ultra 2's, turn in faster and for me the feedback is better. Dry grip is excellent but wet grip is variable dependant on type of road surface.
Tyres are personal, what suits one won't suit others.
National Bikes Tyres in Newton Aycliffe are currently doing a pair of Storms in Fazer sizes for £169  + p&p £7.99

Just like to thank Chaz and the many others who have given feedback to my post, cheers lads. What a forum is all about.
Based on best prices I have found on the net toss up between the Maxxies or the Conti road attacks, bet I chicken out and go for PR2's as I have had these on my CBF 1000 and my Z1000SX

I've got BT023's, the front has 15,000 on it and still about 1mm to go to the wear bar, really should think about changing before the REALLY crap weather starts

Just been out my favourite back road trying them RA2s (dry, but bloody cold at 2am), and gripped like glue where the 020's felt twitchy and nervous; what they're like in the wet remains to be seen (as does mileage), but first impressions are good.

Got a deal on e bay but collected in person at Round &Black , Dartford, I was coming back to the UK for a week from Spain (in the car) so stopped off at Round&Black got matched pair Conti road Attacks £149.00, pleased with that will let you know how get on when fitted. Was very tempted to go for Maxxis but bottled it , maybe next time.
