General / My old Fazer DU52 SXL
« on: 27 July 2013, 11:10:23 pm »
I traded my foxeye 600 in for a Tiger 1050 towards the end of May this year, deal done at Hunts Honda dealer in Manchester, who gave me a decent price for the Fazer and then passed it on to another dealer, presumably still in Manchester area, because it was 'of an age' whereby Hunts wouldn't be able to put a warranty on it.
It's a silver foxeye 600, reg no DU52 SXL, just wondering if anyone on here and in the Manchester area has bought it or seen it around?

For Sale & Wanted / Fazer 600 stuff for sale
« on: 04 June 2013, 08:52:41 pm »
Having recently swapped my '52 plate foxeye 600, I have a few bits and bobs for sale.........

Haynes manual (vgc), Haynes No. 3702, listed as covering the FZS600 '98 to '01, but is also suitable for most things on the '02 to '03 foxeye model as the bikes are mechanically very similar. It also covers the YZF600R Thundercat '96 to '01 --------- £12 inc P&P

Full set of front pads for foxeye 600, Carbone Lorraine A3+, these have been in a cupboard in my garage for a few years but are still sealed in the original packaging ---------- £15 inc P&P ***SOLD***

Oxford lightweight bike cover, comfortably fits the FZS600 and stores in its own bag when not in use, never really used it outdoors so can't vouch for it being waterproof, but used it more as a dust cover whilst the bike was kept in the garage ----------- £10 inc P&P

Having a garage clearout soon so if I find any more bits I'll put details on here

Our eldest daughter came home earlier absolutely distraught because she'd dropped her iPod touch and broken the screen. It's a Gen 4, 32Gb and, after a quick Google, it looks like the glass screen and LCD are bonded together, and need to be replaced as one. A few people have said that it is possible to separate the two parts, but the success rate of re-aligning everything when the replacement parts are bonded back together is not too high.
Does anyone have any experience of any such repairs or know of any repair centres that they would be happy to recommend?
Thanks in advance for any useful tips  :)

« on: 27 April 2013, 07:53:51 pm »
After nearly 9 years of ownership, my Silver '52 plate Foxeye 600 will soon be up for sale. I have decided to keep it until the Spring Meet, after which I will clean it thoroughly (it always comes back dirty from Yorkshire  :lol ), take some piccies and put an advert on here. It's not going on eBay because I can't be arsed with some of the time wasters you can get on there. Brief description below....

Bike is in very good condition and has always been garaged

Will be looking at sensible offers around £1800

General / Insurance renewal
« on: 22 November 2012, 10:34:50 am »
It's that time of year when I need to shop around for a good deal on my Fazer 600 insurance, especially when my current insurer Devitt have put my premium up and included a £10 renewal fee (WTF!!). I ain't paying them £10 to renew, so unless they can match the best quote from 'The Bike Insurer' comparison site, £78 from Saga Select, I'm off to Saga to start smelling of wee and thinking about buying a thou  :lol

General / New trousers for wearing on the bike
« on: 17 August 2012, 11:02:06 pm »
Looking to buy some new trousers soon, and will be considering leather as well as textile. I've never had leather ones in the past, and looking around on t'internet it seems that leather trousers are designed to be worn with the leg bottoms inside yer boots. No good for me, as I've got chunky calf muscles and there's definitely no room inside my boots for anything other than me.
Has anyone got any recommendations for any leather trousers which can be worn outside the boot and still look stylish?

General / Samsung laptop help required
« on: 12 December 2011, 08:22:24 pm »
A friend of ours has just been given a Samsung P29 laptop, and she is having a few problems trying to get it to connect to the internet via the wireless router. She has connected other laptops, so has a reasonable amount of knowledge of setting up wireless connections, but she is really struggling with this one. She (and her laptop) are 25 miles away from where I live, so I haven't seen it or been able to help her, just wondering if any Foccers have any experience of this particular laptop and could point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance  ;)

General / Big favour wanted
« on: 04 November 2011, 10:51:15 pm »
If anyone out there has the capability to record MotoGP from Eurosport, and then copy it to a disc and post it to me, I would be very, very grateful. I only have the BBC option, but, as the commentary is shite, I would prefer the Eurosport version.
As everyone can imagine, Sunday's event is going to be a very emotional one, and I don't want my viewing of it to be f***ed up by an incompetent commentary team!!
If anyone can supply me with a copy of the race on disc, I will be very appreciative of it, and will of course cover all costs with a few extra beer tokens thrown in  ;)

Cheers in advance  :)

« on: 22 September 2011, 07:14:39 pm »
Had a go at posting a picture earlier, but the site wouldn't upload one direct from my hard drive  :(

Any ideas, do I need to check anything specific in my profile settings?

Cheers in advance for any help  :)
