Spark plugs have also been changed, still same problem. I will try swapping the leads and see if that makes any difference.
Sorry if I have hijacked this thread a little.

Got the same problem on tick over no. 3 doesn't run, I can hold the downpipe with my bare hand.

Picks up at 4k rpm although bogs down occasionally if really try to pin the throttle. Carbs have been off and cleaned but no difference.
Mystery continues

My bike previously would only start in neutral, with the side stand down or up.
Turned out to be the clutch switch (think that is what its called) didn't work with the short levers that had been added.
had to modify the the clutch switch in order to sort it.

Okay so, switch in dipped position is high beam only, switch in high beam position is dipped and high beam.
Thanks
Alex

Sorry guys new to all this so I apologise for the unclear questions.
The bike is fairly new to me - since April so correct limax2.
02 Foxeye that has had heated grips added by previous owner hence the wiring looks like has been played with a little.
In my opinion it just seems that the lights work in the opposite way to how they should, eg dipped and full beam are on together but I can't have just dipped, so perhaps opposite isnt quite the right word. Again apologies.
Only the first time I've noticed the light problem as mostly use the bike for commuting and not done any night riding.
Thanks for the replies and the stick all deserved I know  :lol

both headlights are on whether I have side lights, main beam or high beam on.
Problem is I can't have just main beam on and therefore not blind every car coming the other way.

Wondered if anyone had a quick fix for this problem.
My headlights appear to have been wired back in the wrong way round.
So that I can have high beam (only) or main and high beam on together.
Is it simply a connector the wrong way round?
Im awaiting my haynes manual so I can review the wiring diagram but in the meantime if anyone had a bright idea.
thanks

love the colour coded top box!

anyone painted a top box to match the bike? any recommendations? I'd imagine a primer followed by spray paint and a clear coat?

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Dodgy side stand switch?
« on: 28 April 2015, 02:42:48 pm »
not exactly the same but I had a similar problem,

had to modify my clutch switch when i changed to shorty levers as it wouldn't let it start in gear with the clutch in as pulling the clutch lever in didn't let the switch out.

disconnect the clutch switch and see if makes a different.

General / Re: what did you do with your fazer today ?
« on: 20 April 2015, 07:54:46 am »
Today i only rode to work but...

Spent saturday changing the brake discs on the fazer, had a slightly warped disc which was causing pulsing under braking, 2 discs off ebay and an hour changing them along with a firming up of the front suspension has transformed the bike made it alot more enjoyable (not that it wasnt before) to ride.

Then sunday popped over to Salisbury spring surprise bike show, lots of great looking bikes to see and lots of fun to go to my first bike show on my bike.

if harryhornby doesnt take the radiator guard I would be interested.
