General / Re: Heated grips
« on: 24 December 2014, 09:22:00 pm »
I have the oxford touring grips on my fazer as no need to cut or trim to size,
100 per cent is too hot so 50 or 75 per cent is great, I wired the from relay with ign feed to safeguard battery.

Fazer8 / FZ8 / heated grips install
« on: 22 November 2014, 07:04:38 pm »
I have bought a set of oxford heated grips for the fazer 8 but would prefer to connect then via a relay on the ign instead of direct connection to the battery.

doe you know where it is best to take a power feed from for the relay that is ign feed so when I remove keys I know the grips are off.

thanks in advance

Fazer8 / FZ8 / indicators
« on: 11 November 2014, 10:42:26 pm »
I have noticed that the bulbs are rated at 10 watts which I find strange as most bikes are 21 watts, so can you use a higher rated bulb in the original stems or do you have to fit after market units that can take 21 watt bulbs.

I don't mind the bulb type but I haven't looked at led yet as I would like my indicators to be a little brighter

thanks

thanks to all for my hello and I must add that the dealer at streetbike halesown was brill and took time to hear my questions about the bike being suitable for me,
really pleased so far and I have ordered 20mm bar risers and a set of heated grips for it,
my only gripe would be is that it should have two low beam headlights,

Introduction / hello
« on: 01 November 2014, 11:19:50 pm »
hi
I am picking up a 2012 fazer on Thursday from streetbike in Halesowen.
I will be trading in a Yamaha fjr 1300 which I find is too heavy for me.
I test rode a fazer on Friday and loved how nimble and light it felt so I bought one.
stay safe
Raymond
