That surely will be a beast.

I got this one from ebay years ago...

Is the rounded front plate a DIY work or came with the display?

You are aware of the spring preload is adjustable right?

Should come out without much hammering. Ask someone to pull the axle while you are lifting the wheel up a bit and moving it back and forth. Although it should be a one-man job.

R6 shock conversion with a heavy spring would do the magic trick.

Have you measured rider sag? If yes, can you tell me about your weight and the spring rate you chose?

Mine started once when I did the carbs sync. It was an hour running at idle and low rpms.

Yeah I think so too but it's wrapped with tape I think?

The whole thing comes off. There is a little knob on the frame. The plastic thingy clips on this knob. Simply pull upwards to remove it. You do not have to remove the tape.

I believe anutz is talking about that little plastic holder thingy clipped on the frame.

Nice looking ones. Can you check which of the 6 positions is the same distance as the original? I have long fingers so don't want the lever to come closer.

I usually check the oil level before changing. If it is ok (no oil missing), measure it when drained, then pour the same amount in. Always works for me.

They were to stop the Front sprockets coming off if the nut failed, it baffles me as to why you would take it off as they are not designed to be removable

If they were aware of the sprocket nut problem back in 1998, why did Yamaha not solve it by using a nut like the new 12 mm one?
Also, why did they discontinue to install these plates in foxeye models?

oh ok

On the photo you attached the camshaft cap bolts are not in place. I think they should be... (?)
If the chain is tensed between the two sprockets, the marks should align near perfectly.

Correct chain pitch? You can check against the old one.

Don't know the manufacturer of mine, but I know it is from England. It is gel padded and super comfortable. My ass thanks it every time, even after a 800 km ride.  :lol
