FZ6 / Fazer / Did you buy my bike?
« on: 07 March 2017, 10:12:58 am »
Hi foccers!

I'm trying to track down the new owner of my old 2004 FZ6 Fazer as I have a number of OE parts to pass on - the bike was fitted with aftermarket parts at time of trade in, and the oe parts are just taking up room in my garage.

The bike was an early 2004 Stone Blue FZ6 AE53 OVZ and was bought around August, last year (2016) possibly in Cambs or neighbouring counties (the Ducati dealer deals with a broker for non-Ducati part-exes)

If you own this bike - get in touch and I'd be glad to pass on the bits.

Cheers
Pringle

For Sale & Wanted / 2004 FZ6 Fazer Original Parts
« on: 22 February 2017, 02:26:22 pm »
Hi Guys and Gals,

After departing from my beloved 2004 FZ6 Fazer, I now have some original parts to clear from the garage. All these were replaced by aftermarket parts which went with the bike.

Screen - Complete but watermarked and a little scratched. Would probably polish out.

Hugger - Standard Black ABS hugger - used and there grubby inside the chain cover.

Seat - Standard seat good condition - 1 rubber isolation mount missing, but no rips, holes etc.

Rear Light Lens in Red - Standard lens (I put a clear one on the bike). No damage.

In addition,

I have a Givi/Kappa top box mounting kit and case which is well used but still secure and looks good.

and Power Bronze Headlight covers (dark smoke) - no legal for night-time road use, but looks ok during the day (needs Velcro pads to attach).

All parts are located in Cambridgeshire (St Ives or Cambridge) and open to offers.

Many thanks

Hopefully attached, are a couple of shots of mine at the moment. Not taken specifically to show the forks, but you can see fork tops and fronts in these shots. The bike is standard, as I had it from nearly new (ex-demo).
Hope this helps.

FZ6 / Fazer / Re: Fz6 Spark Plug Caps

I've gone in from the front, but as I'm already doing a bit of a deep clean and lube lots of stuff is off already..all fairing, horn,  radiator so not a fair comparison. Removing the rad was easy so if you are planning to change coolant too then these make the ideal two 'linked' jobs.  Good chance to strip and repaint my peeling radiator side tanks. :)

FZ6 / Fazer / Fz6 Spark Plug Caps
« on: 06 December 2014, 07:03:59 pm »
Looking for the collective expertise of you fellow foccers.

On an overhaul of my '04 FZ6 Fazer, one of the spark plug caps has a damaged moisture seal at the base.

I've had a good look on-line and can't seem to find the cap let alone the seal. I can order a replacement yamaha original complete plug cap, but at over 40 quid, that seems a bit excessive for just a moisture seal.

Would it matter if I just left it? The top seal provides a pretty good seal, so I don't foresee water sitting around the plug.

Many thanks
