General / That's me then - I'm off!!
« on: 10 July 2015, 04:26:47 pm »
I'm on my 3rd Fazer until tomorrow lunch time when I pick up my brand new BMW S1000XR Sport SE.

My first was a yellow 600 fox eye (still my fav bike !)

2nd was a naked fazer thou gen 2

My third is in the for sale section.

I've not posted much on here but have enjoyed reading  the forum posts most days over the past few years. I've now joined the 2 S1000xr forums and I hope they turn out as good as FOC-U has been and still is.

So GOODBYE !!! :thumbup

My fazer will be part exchanged by Monday at the latest so only a few days left for it to be advertised on here. If anyone can give me £3750 it's yours.

I've recently bought one of these and they work extremely well. I've got an Arai Quantum st-pro which has speaker pockets and they fit like a glove. The sound quality is excellent and is still auidable at 3 figure speeds ( as tested on a track day officer !!) I bought this due to the fact there is nothing clamped to the side of your helmet, everything is hidden inside the lining.

A good buy for anyone interested !!

As I'm keen to sell this I've just reduced the asking price on e-Bay by £100, hence the asking price for foc-u members has now been reduced by £100 to £3850

You wouldn't happen to have the fitting instructions for the gear indicated lost mine

Check your PM box.

I've never really been bothered about MPG on my bike but I recently made a note of mileage/fuel cost on my run out to Snetterton for the BSB. 280 miles  'ish' round trip and riding in my normal way (not B**ls out but getting a move on or 'making progress) I got 45mpg. Happy with that to be honest.

I've decided it's time to change so my Fazer is up for sale. I bought it just over 2 years ago and have enjoyed every mile. It was pretty much stock when I got it with just a Yamaha belly pan fitted. I've since fitted the following :-

Dark tint double bubble screen
Pazzo clutch & brake levers
Clear indicator lenses
Heal-Tech digi gear indicator
Scorpion Serket stainless steel end can
Carbon fibre heel plates
GB Racing engine covers
R&G tail tidy
Coyo-moto crash bungs
Yamaha comfort seat
New rear Dunlop Qualifier II fitted 1,000 miles ago
I've also fitted a iPhone clamp & waterproof cover to the bar clamp. It is connected to the battery with the switch under the passenger seat. I use my iPhone 5s as a satnav which works very well. I've no use for it on my next bike so it will stay on the bike and hopefully the next owner has an iPhone 5.
New chain & rear sprocket recently fitted.
Also comes with a Yamaha motorcycle cover.

It has 11,244 miles on the clock (although that will increase as I'm still riding it)
MOT was done on 27th May 2015 (all the MOT certificates are in the owners plastic wallet)
FSH. Last (full) service carried 2,000 miles ago
It has the spare key & the red program key, owners manual, service booklet. The bike is also DataTagged. I have kept an XL spread sheet of everything I have done to the bike, date fitted, mileage & cost.
I still have the original levers, seat & indicator lenses which will also be sold with the bike.

Some photos

I will be putting it on E-Bay, Auto-trader & MCN the week after next but thought I'd offer it up on here to give the forum first refusal.

It will be advertised on these places at £4250. Anyone from this forum group who can confirm a user name to me can have it for £3850.00

My mobile number is 07811-446963 and I'm based in the East Midlands, very close to the M42 so easy to find.

Any questions, either message me through here, send me a text or ring me.

Cheers,

Ian C.

I had a ride out on my own today. The flashing fuel block starting blinking at 142 miles. I brimmed it (ready for Sunday's ride to Snett for BSB !) and got 3.13 gallons in - dribbling the last bit before I got fed up with doing that! It worked out at just over 45mpg. No engine mods, just a Scorpion Serket stainless steel end can.

I'm there for the full 3 days. Got friends who race in the Ducati Tri-options so I'll be getting some photo's of them over the race weekend.

Bit weird replying to my own post but I thought an update would be in order. Rode my bike with the gear ind. on it up until it got put away for winter last november and it worked a treat. Very accurate and I made the correct choice of colour (blue)

My FZ-1 will be coming out of hiberation next month but it will be fitted with new chain, sprockets & a new set of PR4's before that ready for the summer.

Now that's dangerous driving!!

Now that takes me back! My very first bike was a Suzuki gt185. I remember lusting after the gt550 but never did buy one. Lovely looking example you've got there.

Took it for it's MOT at one of my local Yamaha dealers. Passed with no problems! First time I've owned a bike old enough for an MOT since 1981 !!!! I forgot how much it was like waiting in the dentist waiting room LOL !

Just bought & fitted one of these gizmo's to my 2007 FZ1-S abs. Real easy to fit with very clear instructions.

Thought I'd post these photo's for anyone who is thinking of fitting one but who are unsure as to where the required connections are situated once you remove the seats & petrol tank.

First connection you'll need to find is the Speed Sensor Coupler. It is the small white connector with 3 wires as shown in the photo

Second one is the Crankshaft Position Sensor which has two wires

3rd & final one to find is the switched +12v wire to the rear brake light

The indicator is a good add on which I've fitted (or paid to have fitted) to most of the bikes I've owned.

To set it up it has to 'learn' the gears which I did by running through the gearbox with the engine running whilst it was on the centre stand.

Hope this is of some help to those that are thinking of fitting one of these.

I've just bought a Scorpion which i'm pleased with, it cost £299.

As normally happens to me, there is a Scorpion end can up for auction on ebay now!

Might be worth checking it out

sure does :) sounds good, just a shame microphones never seem to capture the full proper sound.

I agree but i was using my iphone so that's probably why. The sound is so much better than the stock can. Hoping to get out on it this aft to hear it 'in action!'
