Agrees with BBROWN. Instead of pulling the master cylinder to bits and spending a sum of money on it plus the agro of having to do it, go for a ride instead.

Wouldn't even give a 2nd thought to a 5k trip without an oil change. Worry about something else fella
I ride 365 and clean the calipers once a month (2,000 miles) in winter (rain, shite, salt etc). Tends to be every 3 months in better weather.
I would go for the sintered pads myself as they tend to be slightly nicer to your discs.
You can't possibly get any nicer than the ones i'm using, they literally don't seem to wear anything out at all.
It probably is a combination of very tired old thinner oil replaced with brand new thicker oil, but yes it does make a great difference in my opinion.
