Why is this useful information not in the general section? Us little people with measly 600's can still go to touring abroad you know .
Thanks all the same.
Isn't it funny that the bike you are selling will always have a bigger depreciation issue than the one you want to buy. Or at least it seems that way. I used to change my bikes every three years or so but have had my Gen 1 Fazer for around six years. It's a 2005 bike that was nine months old when I got it. I paid £5,500 for it and I guess that in a private sale it's now woth around £3,500. Two grand in six years is more than acceptable to me. At the moment I am looking for a BMW1200RT to add to my garage and the depreciation on those seems very slow. A two-year old in dealers is only around £1500 less than a new one.I'm trying to change my Gen 1. My 2005 is in great condition and dealers are only offering £2250 ( that was against a new BMW or Honda!! ), and that's with all my luggage, colour match hugger/belly pan etc. Private you may get £2500 to £2750 if you're lucky, but as time goes by the price drops. I've been to 8 dealerships now and they all give more or less the same offer.
Hi Phild, have you seen my Tiger 1050 in the for sale section? I'll do you a good deal. as I'm after a gen 1
Which one of you has the kitchen sink?3 weeks on the road calls for room for more underpants!!!
Sorry about the Honda, but I can't stop my wife from following me wherever I go!!!ride faster!!
Dont know the "value" of your current bike BUT there was an identical standard blue FZS 1000 on "05" plate in my local dealer yesterday with 28000 miles asking price £3995. Dont think they will sell it @ this price as I have seen better bikes for less on this forum & ebay etc. Fazer is a remarkably good all rounder -just clean properly & apply ACF 50 before winter riding.I was just about the say the same thing in regards his Pegaso. The 2003 with ist 13k on the clock is worth about £2000-2500 if its in vgood cond and there and NO mechanical gremlins.
And yeah that 2005 w/28k isnt worth £4k, more like £3k.
