Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: New fazer selector issues

Only came across this now.
This is a common enough problem with a badly adjusted gear lever and easy enough to check and for some strange reason effect 2nd to 3rd gear mostly.

Ride the bike and when you are in second gear move your foot away from the lever completely, then return you foot to change gear again.
If it goes in every time you do this then the lever is adjusted to low

The problem occurs because the lever has not returned completely to the home position as your boot is holding it slightly off the home position and when you go to change again you get the blank as you describe.
This would explain it, if needed I assume you can adjust the position via the linking rod rather than on the splines?
I had this problem on my thou when I first got it, adjusted lever up a fair bit never had a problem since

Just as I thought, thanks. It's a shame they don't make a rack for them as I always thought it would help to make the gen 1 more modern fully dressed for touring.
Agreed but I think the gen1 was out of production when the PLX system came out, they make a rack for the gen2

Never had a pinlock visor and until I read this post I'd never heard of one. Good old fairy liquid is the best anti misting solution (excuse the pun)

30 years ago it may have been, but not any more.
We've kind of moved on a bit since then.
Agreed a well fitted pinlock is the best thing you fit to a lid

Are you sure the pinlock is sealed tight against the visor? if not it will mist. if you look closely to the pins they are adjustable cams you can use to get a perfect seal
I also have a GT Air and have no problems with misting

Looks like you bagged yourself a cracker there, the only downside I can see is it's not in the faster blue :)

« on: 04 January 2016, 06:24:11 pm »
Hey Cellarman, the same as that.
Oil and Filter, drained and flushed cooling system, refilled system with 50/50 long life red antifreeze and distilled water. New Spark Plugs (NGK CR9E), new air filter, new Braided Stainless Steel brake lines (Blue), replenished the brake fluid and bleed through.
cleaned and polished bike, it's now in Garage with dust sheet over it for the next four months.

Jobs a Gudun.

Love my FZS
I fitted the carbon effect brake lines with blue banjo's, they look the mutts nuts :lol
