I use all the brakes.... that's what they are there for.  ;)

although sometimes, I'll just use the front, sometimes just the rear, sometimes all of them at the same time.

it really depends on the bike and the situation... but I've clicked front and rear anyway... I actually think I use my rear brake more than the fronts... a lot of filtering does that I guess...

here is the rear pad from my bike! (at the bottom...  :rollin )

got my money's worth there...  :lol

I used to be worried about mileage on my bikes, hence why I took 3 years to find the perfect (for me) ZX12-R.

However, my little donkey fazer has now nearly got 20k on it, used all year road and it's running great, and I recently purchased a 25 year old Honda Pan which I used to ride nearly 15k around Europe without any issues this summer., it's now sitting with over 70k and it really opened my eyes to how good some bikes can be.

always, always buy bikes/cars on condition and gut feel... sitting in a garage for most of the year isn't always the best, service history can be fake and/or doctored... so you really need to be careful these days...

oh, and anything with a main dealer history is a no, no for me!  :rollin

I would much rather see a well maintained bike/car via specialist and owner maintenance... I've seen far too many cases of main dealers just not giving a f**k about what they're doing to 'gush' over seeing their stamps in a book...

spaces are getting smaller, and there is a minimum size most councils are meant to work too.

I challenged a car parking ticket I got in Northampton for 'not parking in a marked bay', I proved that not only wouldn't my car fit in one (it's now too long and too wide for most new carparks) but that their bays were actually under their guidelines that they're meant to be working with.

never even got a sorry for that!  :rollin

anyway, as for that parking above, I don't see any issues with it, but that's just me, I filter a lot so I'm used to cars/vans being that close!  ;)

For Sale & Wanted / Wanted - fzs1000 blue dot rear caliper
« on: 28 September 2015, 09:04:15 am »
Hi guys,

I think my rear caliper for my '99 fazer 600 is on its lasts legs.

Rather than clean and rebuild, I would rather get the 'upgraded' 1000 rear caliper.

Does anyone have one for sale on here?!?!?

 :)

I don't agree... I mean you see all those cars with an extra 200bhp with their M Poooooowwwer and Turbo stickers from Hellfrauds...

Must be true....

Are there any good films with bikes in them?!?!?  :lol

It's a load of shit, so turn the brain off... forget you actually ride a bike and enjoy it...  :rollin

I have it on DVD, and watch it along with Torque when I want a laugh.

« on: 21 May 2015, 12:08:00 pm »
isn't sliding the back end how to get round corners?!??  :eek :eek :eek

@OP - don't be too hard on yourself, you stopped, didn't crash, and now get to shop for some new under crackers!!!  :b

I normally use front brake for most braking, then switch to rear brake for slow speed/filtering etc.

I like using the friction zone between the throttle/clutch/rear brake to keep the bike stable when going slow.

as always each to their own though....
