I expect it will be the USB sockets, these run at 5v so must be a permanently energised transformer to step down from 12v

That would make sense...I think it is worse since the USB was added...(and it was the latest addition).

Fair point but I need these live without ignition for camping purposes.
Drain reading 0.1 on bike harness alone and 0.2 on accessories alone....think I'll try a switch....unless there is another way??

Mmmmmm.....maybe I could add a simple rocker switch to the circuit in an accessible position?

So, today, if time permits I intend to try and find the cause of my battery drain. The battery was new last year and seems to hold its charge well when on the bench.
Attached to the bike it drains much quicker. The bike is standard electrically apart from a 12v socket on the fairing infill and a double usb socket on the handlebars. Both those are wired directly to and from the battery.
Just wondering if anyone has found any other causes of battery drain on our fzs1000's?

Some of the shittest music known to man has been produced for the season and even stuff I liked when it first came out is now unlistenable. Who the foc wants to hear Slade’s “Merry Christmas Everybody” for the 30,000th time? Or Wizzard? But turn the radio or TV on and soon enough I’ll be hurling whatever is to hand at it in an effort to silence Mariah Carey or Bing Crosby or Paul foccing McCartney as fast as possible.
 :grumble

 :lol

I used to like it when a really Un-Christmassy song made it to number one for Christmas (in the days when the charts actually meant something).

Pink Floyd's 'Another Brick In The Wall' was just perfect :thumbup
Ah yes...
Non Christmassy No.1 songs...............
Bohemian Rhapsody, Ernie (The fastest milkman in the west), Long haired lover from Liverpool...............
And who could forget...................Mr Blobby....??

Ah, the fastest milkman in the west...but have you googled the alternative lyrics?..😂

On modern cars the position of the filler cap is indicated on the fuel gauge.

Is it??? I never knew that.... maybe my car's aren't modern enough, 😞

Ventured into new territory for me... removed the forks...changed the oil and reassembled including dropping them down slightly in the clamps. Was helped by a Haynes manual and previous posts on here keeping me right!

Sorry have to ask why did you not send the proof of NCB to your new insurer when you were taking out the policy.
I have just had my Proof of NCB today as I am re registering my bike from Spanish plates to French plates. I have had my quotes from the french insurers based on the information I supplied , I told them I have not had a claim in over 10 years . My innsuer in Spain have sent the NCB certificate. It says zero claims from 2014 to 2017. I asked them why? they said that is when we insured you from. Okay but you had my NCB entitlement certificate from the company I was insured with before joining you. There reply was you will have to ask them for that information wtf!!
I hate fucking insurance companies they will wriggle to get out of doing anything for you all they want is your money.

All done online Lew and they have not asked me for proof...just straight in with the cancellation email!!

Glad I'm not alone on this....but I will be calling them tomorrow am to try and get t resolved!
I'm never put out if someone thinks they're teaching me to suck eggs....rather be told twice than never... especially in these days of internet fraud.
Hopefully sorted before it's cancelled to avoid the issue!

Anyone had this before?...just received an email advising that bike Insurance would be cancelled in one week with no reason why in the email. I went to a link it sent me which was a letter they have posted to me where it says last insurers have failed to issue proof of NCB.
I have proof from last insurers but no-one has asked me for it!
Not sure who are the biggest toss3rs...last insurers or new ones?
Will I now have to declare having an insurance cancelled?

Seems ironic that you're doing all these euro trips now you're living up north!..(assuming you ride down to the south coast and back?)

Thanks.....but has anyone any success without the static machine....using the bike axle to support and spin the wheel?

Anyone tried balancing their wheels at home? Was it a success or a waste of time?
I don't have a static balancing machine but videos on YouTube suggest it can be done without one so I am interested to try it....unless the experience on here suggests otherwise.

Haven't solved my gen1 yet....420 miles yesterday from Cornwall to Yorkshire is a good reminder to get something done. May try the cycling shorts, otherwise it's Tony Archer or Digger???

Anyone used his services recently? Was thinking of giving him a call....what sort of money we talking?...is it better to take the bike and let him see you sat on it?...or better to just post the seat to him for his miracle working?
