For Sale & Wanted / Wanted rear mudguard
« on: 15 March 2012, 09:40:04 pm »

Looking for a undertray/mudguard for a 03 Gen1 1000.

Some one has chopped my mudguard off at the number plate, i would not mind but it throws dirt and crud up into the handle/lock of my givi topbox. I would even take the bit that was cut off and i could patch it on again.

Went great remembered some of the points mentioned and they worked well. The actors quickly matched my calm and non aggressive approach which is what they were looking for. They said if i got aggressive or threatening they would have done the same plus 25%.
There was a few who did not calm down and just kept ranting on and on no matter what i said but they were just looking to see when i knew that there was no point in trying to calm them down. And to consider a different apporach  :2guns

Good info guys, i am hoping that because they are actors and it is role play they will stop ranting when they are supposed to (eg real life) not just keep it going and going no matter what i say or do. I should be in the position to pass them on to a junior member as i cannot keep talking to them as i have to keep an eye on what else is going on elsewhere. They will want to keep talking to make me miss something so i need to end it quickly.

Looking a bit of help with a role play situation. I am on a course at the weekend which will involve actors being in my face and ranting on about how i am not doing the job quickly properly good enough etc. I have to stay professional and resist the temptation not punch their lights out.
I would normally match their rant with my own but i am in unfamiliar territory being the passive person.

Any one liners or suggestions how to help.

There was a program on a while back offering £10000 to anyone who could prove the existence of any type of paranormal activity. They went to houses castles and the like armed with hi tec equipment. Nothing was found and no one got the cash.

I had a look around the internet without much luck, i also emailed about a dozen breakers who all said they dump them or sell them with the linkage.
Anyone know the part numbers and ill order them from Yamaha direct.

There is not to many engineering firms around here to get one of the shelf.

All was going well with my R6 shock mod until i started to tighten up the bolts on the shock. I started to tighten up the lower shock bolt and then it happened  :eek the nut started to get loose again. I was not putting much pressure on the nut honest guv, just getting it ready for the torque wrench. I thought i would carry on and tighten up the rest of them and come back to the lower shock bolt later. I was tightening up the relay arm to frame nut when it happened again :eek :eek :o :o .  So would anyone have any spare lower shock and a relay arm bolts? And any easy way to get a rung nut of?

I know i must have been a bit heavy handed but i have been tinkering with cars and bikes for years and this has never happened before. Is there anything special about the suspension bolts?

General / Long life tyres
« on: 09 December 2011, 09:27:05 am »
I am on the look out for a Repsol Fireblade just to keep in the garage and polish and to take out when the sun is shining. I only intend to a few hundred miles a year and was wondering if there is any type of tyre that would last the longest without going hard.
I don't really want to be changing a low mileage tyre just because it has gone hard.

I wish there was a Top Gear style program for bikes. There was a few on men and motors which were awful but i still watched them for the content.

Mine is exactly the same blip the throttle and it will die open it slowly and its fine. I never found the problem and it only occurrs if the bike has been standing for a week or so. I tried some redex in the tank which seemed to help a bit.
