O.K i,ve got about £130 to spend, the front runner for me is the RST Blade which comes with a good back protector and seems like a dual purpose (fit for warm summer riding and winter riding) do you guys know of anything better than this for the same amount.Must be able to do the cold winter months and be a sports looking style, also cool in the main summer months.[/size]Regards Ady

Never really thought about it - but do you worry about cold rain landing on the hot bike while you're riding it?

Never thought about it like that before, cheers richfzs

Did the ACF 50 about 4 weeks ago so sorted with that, looks like i will have to keep the hose pipe out,but will the cold water not damage what will probably by the time i get home HOT pistons like warping or something similar eg. cold on to hot?

O.K so i ride my bike to work every day, except xmas  :) ,Started it up after a 5 day standing (had to use the jump leads :( )and the brakes had seized ever so slightly and i was wondering if after every journey home from work if i sprayed brake cleaner on the pistons and discs would that keep all the crap and salt away and stop the pistons from seizing up over the winter months.

Nice looking bike and was looking at the older one to buy,but was told that fuel consumption was frightening so as i have to use the bike everyday kind of put me off,but in a few years could be very tempted.

FZS600 Fazer / Nitron or not
« on: 30 October 2013, 06:27:55 pm »
O.K here goes i,ve been told the rear of my bike is starting to sag a little,19000 miles so not surprised, now i,ve been looking at rear shocker options and the 2 i would go for is first the Nitron, set up for my style of riding and weight by an ex BSB mechanic for a total of £390 or looking at the FZS1000 shocker and my spring off the 600.Now i,m no mechanic so i would have to pay for the labour,so which would work out the cheapest and also which do you think would be the best, also have to remember that the Nitron shock has a lot more options for adjustment. So about £75-100 for the shocker and then god knows how much labour or the simple swap with the Nitron. And guys which do you lot think would be the better.

Well the guy has just contacted me saying the zip does not have a problem and it has only been worn six times, which you can clearly see is not the case,it is showing signs of wear around the cuffs which if you ask me should not be apparent after only been worn 6 times.Do hate having to take this route through E Bay though.

Just contacted E Bay and gone the resolve a problem,it has gone to the seller at first, but i,ve said it,s got a faulty zip and has been worn a lot more than 6 times. Will wait to see what happens all i want is the money to replace the zip but been quoted £25 for doing that. :rolleyes

So i bought a leather Richa jacket off E bay i try it on,zip it up AND the slider comes right off the zip, i contacted the seller who says it is a design so in worst case scenarios the jacket can always be undone, just wondering if any of you can confirm this. Here is a link to the photo.

ACF 50 is the way to go i also use the bike all year round, will soon be giving the bike a good clean then adding the 50 buy using a cloth to put on. It,s expensive stuff but it does,nt  take much to cover the bike, just make sure if you use it don,t get it anywhere near the brakes.

General / Re: Leathers
« on: 07 September 2013, 07:05:10 pm »
It would seem HG & RST don't go in for it so much, but loads of clothing companies indulge in 'Vanity sizing'  whereby they increase clothing measurements but retain the same size marking on the label, so for example a pair of 32" waist trousers may now well measure  34" or even 36" in reality.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vanity_sizing

So the bottom line is that  leathers have stayed the same, the clothes shops have been flattering you to keep you happy & now your bubble has been burst you need to stop dodging the salads....  ;)
