Not convinced about wearing ear plugs because of wind noise and loud exhausts. When the boffins came up with this was any account taken of the  work or other noise conditions the riders with hearing loss experienced on a regular basis.  I've tried wearing them on several occasions but with out fail finish up with an ear infection, though I mostly wear ear defenders when using power tools and air powered breakers and tools at work.

Some times it's a small price to pay for getting rid of serious ear ache

Don't know how I quit smoking tried loads of times, quit several time for 6/9 months always started again. Got up 1st Jan 1990  throw 20 players number 6 in the bin along with my lighter not touched one since, never set out or had any intention to do it that day I'd smoked 30 a day for 18 years. Still don't know how or why I stopped that time and not the other times I'd tried. Still could strangle a smoke on the odd occasion, but never touched one since that day.

I'm a retired brickie remember it well, had forgot how s**t it was being wet and frozen most of the day in winter. Just switched the heating up to help put that flash back out of my mind. So I'll stick to riding in the good weather and leave the bad weather to the poor soles that have to, or those that get some strange perverse pleasure from it.

Or he could just go out and get himself a nice Fazer 1000 of either generation and be done with it.

Dam tommy you've changed my way of thinking now that's a far better way than mine of using a chain and sprocket.

That was my point you have to use 2 now to get a half decent cuppa were as a few years ago 1 would do the trick.

Tea bags that are as weak as p*ss and taste less, and it doesn't seem to matter which brand you buy or how much you pay. Yes I do know how to make a good cuppa first thing I learnt as an apprentice brickie.

Those little b*stards ate through one of my fishing holdalls and chewed there way through £50 worth of boilies but guess that was cheaper than eating the bike. I really have no excuse I used to be a pest control officer. Just to give you all an idea of what your up against a fully grown mouse will get through a hole the size of a 5p piece, but on the bright side if there's mice you haven't got rats and visa versa.

I've slept through more than a few training sessions like that, and teaching your grandmother to suck eggs springs to mind.

« on: 30 October 2017, 10:23:23 am »
I'm 62 got my fz1 gen 2 because (being honest here) I don't fit GSXRs AND R1s as theres no room for my guts and the fuel tank. Tried XJR1300sp for a couple of years but to heavy and not the quickest handling bike then saw the FZ1 tried it, it's the closest thing to a naked sports bike I can find on offer quick, handles well, light, comfortable and my guts fit nicely some complain they lack a bit of ground clearance but both tyres on mine are worn right to the outer edge.

The reason for poor driving is the lack of dedicated traffic police the politicians can pass all the laws they want but if there's no one to enforce them they are pointless. It appears that they just want to use speed cameras to collect revenue not enforce the laws they pass. Perhaps if they used that revenue to fund traffic officer we would all be safer on the roads.

He will be well schooled for life on the wrong side of the law at one of HMPs university for criminal activity. That act of complete stupidity will probably cost him his job, his life as it was before prison, and send him on a path of criminal activity.
