I have gone for an SP engineering option myself, but with out the high link pipe.  Prefer the lower pipe option.

Cheers
Andy.

I quite like the high mount exhaust.  I think I will try and source one to replace my Akro.   :)

I see the Akra has been sold ... does that mean you have gone for a high level option ?

Yes Akra has gone.  I have not decided on another exhaust option yet.  Just put the standard back on for now mate.  I do like your hi level option though.

Thanks for the response. You have a nice set of bikes there, and they look great side by side like that.

Thank you.  :)

Welcome to the FZ8 club.  A slip on exhaust I say yes.  I recommend SP Engineering race cans.  Pure quality and great sounds.  The flyscreen, bellypan and crash bungs would go straight away if it were mine.  They look terrible.

 ;)

Love that anniversary colour scheme..  very nostalgic but  jeeps up with the times too. Now that it's been a while, I'd also like to know which one you prefer riding...?

Well I actually like riding my Fazer 8 due to the wind protection it has, but I prefer the FZ8 to go to my local bike meets and small run outs.  A bit of a hooligan in me comes out.  The FZ8 also seems to handle better for me but both are great now I have replaced the rear shock for adjustable FZ1 items.  I also have a 2007 zx6r road bike that I use for trackdays and fast spins.  :D

Have a look in the sales and wants section for a very nice exhaust.  Can split too and just sell the can. http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,18743.0.html

Selling a full Akropovic Exhaust system to fit a FZ8 or Fazer 8, all models.  Includes a Carbon Exhaust can with removable baffle, all springs and clamps.  The down pipes and mid section are like new, the whole setup has only done approx 500 dry miles.  The pipe also has the threaded hole for the exhaust sensor.
This exhaust transforms the power characteristics on an FZ8 OR Fazer 8.  It lets the engine breath so much better and when used in conjunction with a performance filter it really gives the bike a nice kick in horsepower.  My bike felt so much more powerful and responsive with this on. With a Powercommander it will be even better.

Note: willing to sell the exhaust slip on separately.

Anyway is up for sale @ £399 plus postage via tracked courier. For the complete system

or £220 for the Akrapovic Exhaust Can only with removable baffle posted.

Now all sold to Igeese on here but he didn't trust me so purchased through ebay instead and hence I got charged ebay fee's. But hey ho, that's life. :rolleyes

So tempted..........what about your shock?  Is that going too?

40
I might be interested in the shock.  Did you order the shock from Nitron with your 15 stone weight?  Did you state a pillion weight too?
Cheers
Andy

What,,you bought two ?

did you take a look at the MT-09 ?

Not only did I take a look, I tested one for 4 hours.  Feels like an over powered trail bike to me.  I just don't like the look of them nor the riding stance.  But each to their own.

I prefer a more substantial normal looking bike.  :evil  I love me new FZ8 too.  It rides totally different to my fazer 8.

Welcome onboard Andy.

I have to admit that the anniversary colour scheme looks great. Its just a shame they brought it out approx 3 months after I bought my black one!

Anyway, enjoy your bike ...... cheers

Hi.  Which scheme do you mean?  Fazer or FZ8?

Hi all Fazer 8 fans. I am a new member, so Hi there.  I am located in Lincolnshire but originally come from North Wales.

Not joking but over the last 30 odd years I have just about owned and tried every bike going, but I never really found my holy grail of do it all bike.  I have just decided that race reps were getting boring ( and my old body hated them) and I have never been into tourers or even sports tourers.  But I liked the look of the Fazer 8 so decided to go to my local dealer and get a demo ride.  Instantly I knew I'd found my perfect bike, balanced, powerful enough for me, smooth and comfortable.  So I went out and looked for the colour I wanted deep down since my early Yam two stroke days.

Here it is: 2013 pre registered Brand spanking new.  :)  Zero miles.  Well 12 on it right now. Fitted a R&G tail tidy only.  Exhaust was part of the deal.  Also came with standard exhaust.

Now looking for one of these to go with it in my garage:
