Speed block doesn't flow nothing lines up my eyes are everywhere as Luke said old hat now (no offence)

The LC rocks I'm liking that looks totally different  can you photoshop a kit on the early r1 / lc blue coloured gen 1

I personally dont think the 'LC' kits going to work on an R1 as theres just too much of it to fill ? I think it works well on the FZS as they are similar in styling i.e there both very minimulistic in bodywork.
Ive wanted to do one of these for a while now but just not had the time till now, so far the response has been quote positive so it is possible that I may do a few more and in various colours too, black, pink & lime green anyone  :eek

Soz mate I think you read my post wrong not a R1 bike !! I said early R1/Lc blue coloured gen1.

This bike.

OOPS! Sorry, tis a little early  :o
The early LC was in a lighter candy blue than your bike, the stripes (in my opinion) would need to be either white/grey or white/silver as I think the blue stripes as in my above panels would be a bit much.
Unfortunately ive never used photoshop and im still in the process of trying to take some better/clearer pictures so I can try have a go at something like that  :\
If I have any joy I will post up my results.

Would be interesting to know the trade in price / ride in ride out.
And do you do the Trafic / base colouring to demand

Please feel free to P.M me and we can take it from there, you can have just about any base colour you like. One thing I will say if you require a colour from a bike that is under 3 years old or in a special effect (i.e H.O.K) then it will be slightly higher in price as I have to source these paints from another supplier (to which I get next to no discount im afraid).

Trade in prices are going to be subject to your existing panel condition & colours, also as a small business I do need to turn a small profit im afraid. If you have good undamaged panels your probably better off selling them yourself, unless you do not want the hassle ? (Thats were I come in)
Just to clarify my ride in ride out quote above was meant in regard to the above panel sets, so if you wanted to trade in your existing panels for any of the above refurbished panels you can basically call in to the workshop have the panels swapped over then ride off into the sunset without having to lift a spanner.
My workshop is based in sunny Glossop, which is in the High Peak, Derbyshire (theres some very nice roads up here, so feel free to drop in if your ever up this neck of the woods). Glossop is actually closer to Manchester (which is to the east) or slighter south of Huddersfield, im approximately 80 miles away from Derby & Nottingham (I get this a lot?).

Thanks again, chitsu  :D

« on: 14 August 2012, 06:51:40 pm »
Ive just had a couple of fairing kits refurbished, one in a Yamaha racing 'Speedblock' design & another in an 'RD-LC' twin stripe theme/homage.

Both fairing sets are listed in my eBay shop if you require any further details.
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/easibike-glossop/_i.html?_nkw=FZS+1000+FAIRINGS&_sid=1015751981

I also have several of the speedblock decal kits in stock in various colours now,
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/easibike-glossop/_i.html?_nkw=FZS+1000+decals&submit=Search&_sid=1015751981

Ive sold a few of the speedblock kits & panel sets, im just waiting to see what response I get to the 'LC' style panels before I have anymore of the decal kits made up, the next set will probably be in the mars bar black & red.

If anyones inerested in any of the above please feel free to drop me a line, I would consider lightly damaged panels in P/X & I can offer forum members a ride in ride out fitting service if requested.
If you are interested in having your bike painted in something like the above please feel free to P.M me.

T.T.F.N, chitsu  :)

Here is a sneek peek of the kit, as they havent been lacquered yet.

I have some extra decal kits in stock which are in Black/White (just like the above) I also have some in Blue/Black & White (Blue blocks instead of the Red that are fitted to the bike in my previous post) . These kits have been laminated so they can be applied over your existing paint.

I will put some more pics up next week of them when they are finished.

Yeah seen some of his work but when I spoke to him last year he wanted 900 for a simple orange full spray on a mates  naked bike.

His fancy stuff is good and his work on old clasic stuff is Awsome, but he ain't cheap.... Or even reasonable last I heard.
But you pay for quality I suppose.

There is alot of work involved even on a naked bike such as the fazer. I would be very dubious of any paint job for £150-200, but if you arent fussy then I guess it is each to there own.

P.S The yellow speedblock panels will be finished by Monday if you are interested drop me a P.M with your email addy & I will send some pics off to you.

Dream machine charge around a £1000 'RETAIL' for a full bike, but then again it all depends on what sort of thing that you are wanting done and to what standard of finish you are happy with ?

Have a look on here some of the basecoats are around £200 a litre and then you need all the other guff to get the necesarry finishes.
http://www.house-of-kolor.co.uk/
As I said in my previous post most of the newer bikes are painted in inks which are atleast £100 a litre, many of the 'CAR' based body supplies specialists dont do these inks, so you end up having to pay more for the materials as they are of a specialist nature.
I cant see any decent painter painting a bike for less than £400 inc materials, we charge £120 for just a fuel tank if it is a basic colour if its an ink or what not then it's plus the additional cost of the ink.

The £80-100 for materials must only be for a solid or basic mettalic, I am in the process of painting a spare set of panels in a Kenny Roberts style speed block design. The yellow base coat alone was £45. Then there was the Isolater (Bar Coat)  that was another £15, the white primer was £15 then theres the lacquer, thinner, hardener panel wipe, body filler, stopper and then the graphics (appox) £90. So probably close to £200 there alone without including sand paper, scotch brite, tack clothes, compound & finishing glaze.
I did one of these last year but in a pearl, if I remember rightly the pearl was an additional £50 on top of the above stuff.
The red & blue fazer 1000's are originally painted in an 'INK' or this is sometimes reffered to as a 'DYE' this is £100 per litre for the ground coat & ink! (I know this because I painted a friends a couple of weeks ago).
So depending on what you are wanting this is why no one will give you a figure it could be £400 or a £1000 ?
My next set of panels will be painted in a marble effect, for the base coat & marbelizer it will be close to £100 on top of most of the stuff listed above, it's not very cheap if you want it done properly.

If your struggling to find some one to paint your bike feel free to PM me with what you have in mind, or if you are in the northwest your more than welcome to pop in.

Searched all my boxes of Fazer bits but can't find the fairing brackets sorry.  :\

Not sure I want to sell discs on their own dellboy. I will be left with a bare wheel which will probably never sell then? Make me an offer.

Replied to your message  about clocks sie.

List updated again as items have sold.

Sorry to be so mercenary here, but I would give you £30 plus the P&P (as long as it is reasonable) for the wheel if that is any use ?

If you remove the infills you SHOULD see some slight chaffing marks on the inside of the fairing, I fit felt tape to the area where it is marked. I also put a little more on the areas of the clear silicone tape & sponge originally fitted at the factory, which will have no doubt gone off by now.

Bear in mind that if you order the TEROSON adhesive you will also need the mixing nozzles & applicating gun. These can be a little pricey if it is for a 'ONE OFF' repair as the nozzles are £2 pound each and come in packs of twelve (they are one use only too, and the stuff goes off very quickly this time of year), the applicator is around £30 aswell.
As I said if you are within the North West drop me a P.M and I should be able to help you with your repair.

Araldite is absolutely useless on fairing plastics. I use a couple of different ones but these are 2 part adhesives and require special mixing tools, these are ones I use the most: SOL X 'MM' & PU are both good as is TEROSON (TEROKAL I think it's called) also do a good adhesive. As these are specialist adhesives they are not that easy to obtain if you are not within the motortrade.

Another good adhesive which you should be able to source from any decent bodyshop supplies is 'Q' Bond.

If you are within the North West drop me a P.M as I maybe able to assist you in your plastic repair.

The fork seal is thinner on the 04-05 (1C2 is it's model code). It is  9.5/10.5mm as opposed to 11/14.5mm of that fitted to the 5LV  :eek
Also the full wiring loom & ignition switch is different (due to the lack of a headlight switch).

Ok thanks for the heads up about the forum, have been looking for a U.K based forum aswell but not had much look finding one with some recent activity on it ?
I was actually fortunate enough to have owned an old GENESIS model in the late nineties, it was all I could afford at the time, I could'nt stretch my finances enough for the EXUP  :'(
Ive been looking for a couple of months now & ive not really found the right bike yet, but they do seem to be reasonably priced compared to the old GSXR's anyway ?
No one on here got one thenI take it ?

Anybody got one ?
Thinking of getting an early 1989 or 1990 model as I wanted one in the early nineties but could'nt afford one then.
Anything to look out for other than there thirst for oil ?
