I instructed for ten years, if this comes off I'll be back in it like a shot.

£20 an hour is going rate after the usual introductory stuff.

For Sale & Wanted / 600 Engine
« on: 10 October 2013, 10:59:12 am »
Is anyone interested in a 600 engine from a '98 / '99 with approx 25K miles on it.

It is not complete but needs camshaft holder bolts and the cams refitting.

I used it as a replacement while my engine got sorted. I stole the camshaft holder bolts
for mine.
Up to this point it ran lovely.
It's a bit cosmetically challenged and I'll try to get some pics up later.

I have had it taking up space for a few years now and thought it must be worth £50 to someone.

Sounds a reasonable thing to do.
Van driver probably never saw you coming so when surprised it becomes your fault, hence his reaction.

The chain will bounce around on the stand as there is no load on it.

Could the noise be clutch basket or cam chain, maybe even front tyre noise. Some Bridgestones used
to do it.

I just think a slack chain, as you first saw it, would be unlikely to do the bearing.

Sounds like its not compressing fully.

I'd whip it all apart and start again to be sure. Pain I know.

Andy, thats my poorly made point. Minimum spec is fine.

I'm trying to say minimum is good, above that for pretty bike pictures or semi synth
or fully synth is just choice and cost.
I'm a Wilkos 10-40 guy and at 73K miles the bikes fine.

The way I see it, it's a bit like tyres.
Handbook for my '98 600 says use radial tyres of correct size,
now this doesn't stop me using the best tyres I can get as things have developed and improved in
the 15 years since my bike was made.

For oil it says use motor oil of a certain spec. Now if i meet this spec, great, if I surpass this with a super
oil of the 21st century then also great.

So meet the minimum and everything else is up to you.

Maybe error code 43 is "wrong colour wheels or bike"

The Wilko oil I use isn't car oil it's just motor oil of the required spec as stated in the manual.
This cannot be wrong can it?
73,000 miles and counting.

Mr Yamaha says SE , SF type or equivalent and don't put any additives in.
No mention of car or bike just the spec.

She probably looked but didn't see him. Not many people don't actually look.

should have expected it more with the standing traffic., it looks like a keep clear written on road so traffic
emerging there will be common.
If he hadn't dropped it may have had other options, again easy to say watching back.
Surprised she got done at all as he crashed on his own, hard to say what might have happened if he stayed on.

IF they all protect as well as each other then price is about comfort and style.

I use a HJC IS16
flip down dark visor, light enough, quiet with chin curtain. double D (my preference)
around £100
