« on: 27 January 2014, 04:53:28 pm »
Hi does anyone know a decent paint sprayer near to Southampton ?

How big an area, and how good a finish? I have a friend in Andover who works wonders with spray cans!

Single part paint is shite, especially so on petrol tanks....

Good choice of kit. I love the genuine front sprocket. They are about £90 if you buy one separately.

You can get genuine ones from here for £32 ;)

The shark helmets nearly all come with a drop down dark visor, problem is it sits very close to your face and was unusable with my glegs, which don't have big frames...

I went for the AVG Horizon which also has one of those drop down dark visors, no probs at all with glegs, great helmet ;)

Another good thing is the large chin guard which is extremely well vented so my breath doesn't fog up my glegs...

i got pulled by a m/c copper cos i ad me lid flipped up.
Whats the law problem with that then, is it a danger if the wind catches it - and where in the law would that fall under

It adversely effect the strength of the lid

I use Wurth chain wax once a week.. never had any chain issues.

Great stuff, minimal fling and it doesn't attract crap..

My chain is on 18500 miles, so is the rear sprocket although I did replace the front sprocket at 16000 miles as is was starting to hook..

Proper Koyo ones, just bought some myself last month..

As for method, I put a bar in at an angle and knock the spacer to one side, just enough to expose the inner edge of the bearing, then knock it out.. obviously the other side is a doddle as its now fully exposed..

« on: 29 December 2013, 01:47:04 pm »
R6 shock now fitted with 700lbs spring, very fiddly to get top mounting bolt in whilst juggling the 2 spacer washers but hopefully I won't be taking them out again LOL.
Just need to get out on the road to sort the  final settings.

Huge thank you to everyone involved in the R&D of this mod,

Well done mate ;)

I used superglue for the spacers..

The 600 is fantastic. But I'm 6'4" and nearly 15st so the extra room would be nice!
[/quote]I think power to weight ratio is a big factor,I think you on a 600 is the equivalent of me at 5,8" and 91/2 stone on a 250 and not my 600. I think the 1000 would be a perfect bike for you.

How do you work this one? That's like saying you on a 250 would match him on a 600...

Remember the bike isn't carrying the weight more rolling it, so because your 5 stone lighter or 50% doesn't mean you could lower the capacity or power 50% and be able to keep up..

But yes I agree the thou would suit him better due to his physical size..

That's a Thunderace not a Thundercat isn't it

I use GT85, never had any problems with rust, once I have washed the bike I give it a quick spray...

I use the pump bottle not the aerosol..

No thanks.
We're supposed to be the good guys. Someone who cold-bloodedly executes an injured POW thoroughly deserves to be in jail.
Al-Quaeda have enough followers without arseholes like that acting as a recruiting officer on their behalf.

I disagree, what do you think that Mr Al-Quaeda would of done to OUR soldier if he was unfortunate enough to be captured?

Alexander Blackman has probably had many friends killed or horrifically injured at the hands of Al-Quaeda so probably thought a little payback was due.

When fighting such an enemy I think human rights and respect has to take a back seat..

Don't forget who Al-Quaeda are and what they have done to the world..

I didn't even think the murdered man was a member of Al Quaeda, I thought he was a taliban insurgent?

Your right he was, but I don't see the difference as our troops are fighting both..

Brass, a bit soft?

Can't imagine them taking a lot of abuse when you come to take them off laters...

They are only tightened to 10nm or 7.3 ftlb so its not a problem...

Its a better option than the steel ones that often become corroded on only to snap the stud on removal..

and where did you get exhaust hanger please. Nice !!!

That's a diy job mate, I had some 5mm aluminium plate lying around, cut the holes with hole saws...

Believe it or not I polished it first to a mirror shine but it looked odd on the bike so I roughed it back up and painted it :rolleyes
