Apparently since Xmas (some may already know) Yamaha have now placed their parts catalogues online. So no more trying to describe a part over the phone to your local dealer. I found this site useful recently when I was after a rear wheel spacer on me Gen 1.Hope this helps. www.yamaha-motor.eu/uk/information/parts-catalogue.aspx

It took me a while before the penny dropped that Suzuki weren't at the show. They're probably saving their pennies so they can return to Motogp.

I'll be there on Saturday morning. Planning to leave the great one to create financial damage to our bank account in Oxford St . Have no problems meeting up with fellow foccers at Excel. Refuse to wear red carnation or bloody silly hat. Anybody want to name a time or place?

I generally find it best to have someone sit on the bike and adjust the chain accordingly. Saves the hassle of deciding which manual recommendation is the best. Plus if you have a tight spot on the chain it also gives you better idea of what you're up against.

Excellent pictures for what turned out to be an excellent day of racing. I was at Goddards and witnessed the unfortunate coming together of Melandri and Haslam Great to see Lowes getting his well deserved first in the supersport, reminded me of Scott Reddings 125 win a few years ago. Looking forward to the return on the 5th August at Silverstone.

When I recently overhauled my Gen 1 forks, I changed my springs for Hagon ones, which came with 7.5w oil. I'm really pleased with the firmer front end feeling. Plus, the excellent advice I received from Hagon.

That'll teach me for trying to be helpful I've just had peek at my 600 centrestand, and as you rightly point out, the spring is centrally mounted . Things you learn on this forum. Never mind, at least my bit of tube works on me Gen 1.

Hope this helps. I use a 12mm od piece of stainless tube approx 400mm lg with one end notched out about 10mm. I bolt the centre stand in position, hook the spring on the centrestand plus hooking the other end of the spring over the tube. Place nothed end of tube on to locating pin on frame and lever up stretching the spring and tap it over locating pin. I must admit it's taken me years of scrapped knuckles to eventually come up with this.

I agree with Pie eater, with tyres it's usually down to personal preference. In my case I've got Roadsmarts on my Gen 1 thou and they do the job for me.

That's bloody shame I think it'll put more pressure on Camier to come up with the goods.

I don't dismiss rossi too lightly. At present he has too much to lose , especially his reputation. However, he's had a good spell at the top and he done wonders for Moto GP. I bet if one asked members of Joe public if they've heard of stoner, lorenzo and Pedrosa, they'd look at you as if your from another planet . Mention rossi, no problem. And it's not just Ducati who want him in at the front, Dorna no doubt does too, promoting their cause. Actually all his sponsors do as well. I agree, Stoner has about as much charisma as stagnant moss. But he did bring home the goods, I disagree on a shite Bike, but a bloody difficult one to master. Don't forget when it first came out it left everybody standing . Unfortunately for Ducati everybody caught up and then waved byebye . Personally, I'm all for WSB and BSB. The racing is close and the grid is sufficent . Though I do wish there was a R1 on the grid . But at least it ain't like the ducati cup as WSB was a few years ago . What Rossi doesn't want, is for Checa to come along for a one off MOTO gp ride, as Bayliss did and blitz the pack . It does seem weird that Ducati are doing well in one series with an out of date machine And didley squat in another class. what they need is a bit of Vorst brung dork technic. Or have I got the wrong car maker.

Yes mister Crutchlow did brilliantly , but it's still early days. Don't forget what happened to Toseland . However, I do believe if Crutch does keep up the pace and Spies doesn't, then somebody else could be teaming up with Lorenzo. It would certainly help Poncheral as he's commited to Bradley at the end of the season. But going back to Rossi. I remember him saying at his height, that even he could make the then slow Kawasski work . And this I believe he thought he and Burgess could do on the Ducati and by doing so show up Stoner . Unfortunately it hasn't worked. Despiter numerous prangs, Stoner came away with a title and several podiums on a machine that Mr rossi can't control, even with numerous chassis changes. So wish all this pressure from the fans, Ducati and now Audi, if his head ain't f****d by now he's a better man than me.

I'm with Devitts and they have no problem with the mods on my bike , providing they don't alter the performance . As far as they are concerned as long has they've been notified as to what's been added or altered, no problem. However, god forbid you have a prang , as they will only replace with standard parts. Though alot of the time these are more expensive than aftermarket ones My list includes: R6 rear shock upgrade, hugger, indicators, belly pan, swingarm, givi rack and box, seat, undertray, end can etc. If it helps I'm paying £135.00 a year fully comp with my FZS 600 included. Can't moan at that

Rossi is still a great rider, but with all the best will in the world, I too believe he has seen better days and in my view since his crash his confidence is not what it used to be , plus he is now older and up against younger guns. However, he's still is a valuable asset to motogp, even my mother's heard of Rossi. Even though it's early days, it would be a shame if he were to retire this year, especially if it was on a low note. Maybe Audi have an ambassadour title lined up for him? Could this be the time to go rallying? Let's see what the year has install, he could still yet get a podium

The joys of aftermarket fitment Try some copperslip on the link pipes, that may help with the tight fit. don't worry about the gasket, mine hasn't one either, does blow a tad, but not much to worry about. Hope this helps.
