To be honest after 12 years you would be better off ripping it out, you are lucky it has lasted that long with no problems.

The greatest inequality is not between genders, but between classes. But you can't complain about that AND live in a capitalist country. It's like complaining about the heat in Africa.

Don't see any problems with grooming "white girls".

I appreciate that English is probably not your first language but do you not realise what " grooming " means?
It is abhorrent for it to happen to any girl, no matter her skin colour or race.

Success :) , tried the method in the link Val posted, was fairly easy and I had it done in 15 minutes. Adjusted the tab and added a couple of washers and now the seat goes on and comes off easy.

Where I work there are two women who both work in the office, there are 28 men doing the manual work.
In the female toilet there are four washbasins and four traps, in the mens two washbasins and two traps, now that is gender inequality!

Thanks Dude and Val, have tried both those methods with no success. When I get home from work tomorrow I am going to try the method that is shown in the link that Val posted, will be a pain in the arse but once I get seat off I can adjust the mechanism, cure seems to be a cross between adding a washer to stop it flexing as much and bending the tab so that it latches correctly.

Okay so bought a MT09 and very happy with it but I have made a bit of a cock up.
I have managed to jam the seat, I have removed it once before when I checked the bike over and I think I did not locate it correctly when putting it back on.  :o .    I turn the key and lift and pull backwards like you are meant to but it only moves about 5mm then it is solid.
I have tried thumping it and wiggling a piece of metal rod about underneath the gap in vain hope but the bugger is stuck.
Any ideas or help would be much appreciated.

I have tried to post this on the MT09 forum but even though I am a member when I try to post on the forum it just keeps telling me I have not done the image capture correctly, after 5 goes I gave up

Glad your ok, but remember the rule, "If your cannot see the vehicles mirrors the driver cannot see you!.

In moving traffic that would be the rule, but in stationary traffic the situation is different, I believe the person who is reversing has to make sure it is safe to do so.  If everybody stopped behind a truck or any long vehicle in stationary traffic and left a gap that made sure you could see his mirrors you would be talking about a gap of four or five car lengths at least, that gap would be swiftly fillled up by people who think you are a dickhead for leaving such a large space and causing even more traffic tailback, one of those people would be me.

Bought this MT09,  2016, 5500 miles and just had dealer sevice,  Akrapovic exhaust and Hyperpro springs front and back. Really light and nimble, should have done this a year ago.

Airport drop off charges, I dropped my wife and two of her cronies off LeedsBradford airport this morning at 5.45am and to get out of the official drop off area I had to pay £3!

And another thing,  there was about 3"  of snow and I was following my mate in his car who had his wife and another crony on board, my Focus struggled like hell up two of the hills, traction control kept kicking in and his shitty Kia Rio with no traction control and little skinny tyres just powered up, he arrived at the airport 5 minutes before me the smug git.

They will be disconnected exup cables. I take it that you have an aftermarket end can fitted and do not have the original end can fitted.
Nothing to be bothered about as the exup on a gen2 Fazer is just for emissions.

Have you connected the earth wire and got a good earth?
Check the the connector between the bikes loom and the power commander, mine were quite hard to get fully seated together correctly.

Also I have heard that the 9V battery needs to be new for it to give the necessary voltage.

I have done more than 50 miles on motorcycles over the years and never had one come off or undone.

Wow, a whole 50 miles, thats probably less than a mile a year :rollin :rollin , you need to get out more  :D

On a serious note I think the clips were phased out as they were not capable of handling the increased power of modern bikes.
I once went to look at a  GSX750  and on inspecting the chain found two clips about 10 links apart, not a good idea!

He either has Asperger's or he just needs to find girls and if he is looking in that hole them then he really does have problems

Finding girls will just give him more problems, he needs to find motorbikes. :)

Very smart Tommy, nice to see a project completed without any real problems.

Not UK, and definitely speeded up, you can tell easily from the people walking about.
Still it shows people just don't know how to drive in adverse conditions.

Shame you don't want a v nice gen 1 thou. ;)

Had one for six years,  but looking to get something lighter , most probably a MT09, due to old age and a knackered right leg.
I have been putting off this decision for over a year but  I aren't getting any younger. :'(

Make sure fuel tank has vey little petrol in it when removing,  a nearly empty tank is a lot easier to manhandle than a full one.
