The bar ends must be different than the gen2, that has a rubber insert moulded in to end of the bar, I couldn't get them out and bought some renthal bar ends which look neat but are to light,so much so I had to put some grip puppies on to get rid of some vibration, they work ok but look a bit thick on the bars. Those holes you drill for the switchgear are a nightmare to get bang on,well, they were for me,I remember looking at a u/tube video and the bloke who was doing the job didn't bother drilling the bars, instead he put some form of thick tape under the switchgear and tightened them up!Didn't fancy that at all and I was glad I persevered with the holes, best of luck. :lol

Were your Renthal bars straight or with a rise? only asking because I wanted a more comfortable riding position on my Gen 2 so,not thinking I bought a pair with a medium rise which were just right but the oem brake lines were a fair bit short ,that's how I came to buy some lengthened ones from Wezmoto and while I was at it I got the rear as well.I wasn't planning on putting braided lines on initially but they tidied the bike up so much I'm glad the original ones didn't fit.Just wasn't sure whether you had the same problem with a Gen1

I can highly recommend Wezmoto lines. I replaced my aged HEL ones with them in the summer. You wouldn't tell the difference in terms of finish and quality
That will be because Wez makes his lines in the Hel factory with their parts so they are exactly the same minus the Hel branding  ;)

Put Wezmoto lines on mine and thought they were great quality, then seen this post and realised why. :thumbup

Only just read about Chas Davies being in the frame for an Aprillia Moto GP ride next year and thought well, that would be great but didn't think he had much chance with some strong moto2 riders' about but it turns out that in their agreement with Dorna BT sport have demanded a british rider must be in the series so with Cal test riding for Yamaha looks like Chas might get that easier than you think. :thumbup

!WOW! really suprised at that,I thought they'd find with manslaughter,I personally hope he somehow gets off because I really think it was just the red mist and the fact that his bike was an old cheap one tells you he hadn't got a lot to start with so it probably meant a lot to him and he just wanted to get it back,I don't think for a second he thought anyone would get seriously hurt let alone killed, just a tragic outcome because scum or not they're someones son/brother,mate. :(

Brits' tend to hit there peak a fair bit later than their italian/spanish counterparts so there's hope even for Sam Lowes if he was to get a race winning ride not like the shoddy way Aprillia treated him in Moto Gp a few years back, but injury aside I think Jake Dixon could be competitive in the premier class but he needs to be there soon.Dorna could help because they like to see one or two brits in the class.Rory Skinners' name has been mentioned but there's a massive gulf between blowing all the Brits off and looking great in BSB supersport and GP's,it would be interesting though, apparently his management were looking for a ride in Moto2 .

Read about that and initially felt for him ,he said he'd got the substance from a meal in Malaysia but when given the chance to take the powers that be to said restaurant he said he couldn't remember where it was! You would have thought with what was at stake he would have scoured every cafe/bar/restaurant in Malaysia to find it if that was the case,so I don't know really.Good hard racer though, will be missed. On another subject I can't wait for this weekend,I think Mir will wrap up the title and just hope Sam Lowes puts last week behind him and goes to Portimao with a few points lead and takes that title, everything crossed for that one ! :thumbup

Obviously not as straightforward as I thought ! don't envy you that one. Have you tried asking your local Yamaha dealer for any advise ?
