FZS600 Fazer / Re: What would you replace your FZS600 with?

The FZ1 and MT09 are both good bikes but you hit 100 miles on either then you are looking for the nearest petrol station.

« on: 04 May 2018, 11:55:10 am »
The yearly stupidly overpriced insurance renewal, paid Bennets £124 last year for fully comp on my FZ1s, this year they want £298 plus £20 " arrangement fee" for the MT09.
Phoned them up, told me thats the price and could not do it any cheaper, onto the usual compare sites, £168 with MCE including helmet and leathers cover.
I get so pissed off at having to do this every year for bike and car insurance.

Read this on my break this morning, we all moan about motorways being shut off for accidents and the presence of cctv cameras everywhere but if it wasn't for them and the tenacious copper the car driver would have never been found and jailed. Pity the sentence was not for a lot longer.

« on: 21 April 2018, 04:10:40 pm »

Audi might make flash indicators just a shame they can't invent anything to make Audi drivers better. There's  no choice between Audi and BMW drivers as to who's the biggest d*ck heads when driving extreme caution is required around both sets of drivers.
It seems to me that as soon as the weather turns warmer there are more stand out wankers on two wheels doing their best to kill themselves than in any make of car out to get them.

That is so true, I was driving through Pudsey this morning and saw 3 bikes in front of me, as they approached a left hand bend with a T junction directly opposite on the right hand side at the bottom of the hill all three then overtook a car who was indicating to turn right. Best of all the last bike had  'L'  plates on,  that rider is learning all the wrong things from the two bigger bikes he was following. Hope they all carry donor cards so that some good may come from their stupidity in the future.

I just use Halfords OAT antifreeze, I buy the 5 litre concentrate and use for the bike and cars.

Glad to see you have recovered alright and are back up and biking, similiar but not as bad happened to me 5 years ago. Chest infection, ambulance and oxygen, four days in hospital, took about a month before I felt normal again, having asthma as well didn't help much either.,  sometimes life just truly sucks.

Just fitted a H4 Philips Extreme to my MT09, vast improvement.
Still got to fit a pair of Chinese Cree knock offs that I took off my FZ1s when I sold it,  got to make up some stainless brackets first. As others have said these make a world of difference, just one tip if you fit some, be careful how you angle them as you will blind everyone if they are angled to high.

I have been insulted many times but implying I am a millennial is really hurtful :'(

Your last sentence answers your question, you cannot run a motorcycle  business when all your customers want is a pot of tea and a chat, they need to spend money on parts etc so you can make an operatjng profit.

« on: 17 April 2018, 09:03:45 am »
If they want it, let them have it. Its only metal (however much you like it) and can be replaced. No point in putting yourself in harms way for a bike.

I do like the exploding seat idea above though. Something that can be operated from a distance once they think that they have got away with it.

Not too big an explosion though, just enough to rip their balls off and totally shred their rectum.

Yeah, the floor tiles are from Costco, like you say they make garage seem a lot warmer and no more cold feet. Had mine down for over 10 years now and they need replacing. General wear and tear plus wifes pet rabbits like to chew them for some strange reason.

Took a run up to Pateley Bridge and then onto Masham,
When I got back replaced the original crap headlight bulb with a Philips Extreme, looks a lot better.

Put peanut butter down in my shed as they were eating the sack of bird food. Nothing. Mind you, I haven't had any more bird food taken either. I reckon they've cleared off. Last seen heading west. Some talk about a garage with cosy classic car  :lol

How about a small shower / toiletries bag?  The type you stick your soap, razor etc when you go on holiday. Usually at least water resistant and cheap.

After 5 years NCB you are supposedly getting a 65% discount , at 9 years supposedly 70% / 75%. After 50 years you might 76% !
Protecting your NCB is a nice little money earner for insurance companies,  you are paying to insure your insurance doesn't go up in theory.
The insurabce companies cannot lose.

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Centre Stand
« on: 02 April 2018, 02:00:05 pm »
I have never found putting it on the centre stand completely smooth and effortlessly. I have the correct technique, my stand is good but I just don't think the stand is perfectly designed or in the optimum position, look at some of the massive gold wing type bikes and how easy they look (at least to me) to put on the centre stand.

why mention goldwings - you reminded me of these

Never seen them before, for a disabled biker they could be a lot better than going the trike route.

Its amazing how a word or gesture can mean totally different things in different parts of the world. Used to work with quite a few Americans and one in particular always used to say after a break it was time to get off our " fannies"  and get back to work. We had to explain to him in that whilst in America the word might mean your  bottom, here in the UK it meant vagina and that he should be careful where he says it and in what company.

I read and understood what he said in his first post but still say remove it, after 12 years it is getting ready to fail.
I had my gen1 for six years and only once in that time did it let me down, the Meta alarm failed with no warning and I had to call out the AA, the AA guy said what PieEater posted, the sealed internal battery had given up the ghost.

I appreciate that English is probably not your first language but do you not realise what " grooming " means?
It is abhorrent for it to happen to any girl, no matter her skin colour or race.

Understood it as courting - so you can disregard my comment on that, thanks for pointing it out.
This dictionary gives two definitions, the latter one is about pedophiles?!?
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/grooming

Thats why I pointed it out, was pretty sure you did not realise what the word means nowadays.
