The theory tests are a joke and some questions are hilarious with a 3 choice answer. Something along the line s of an old man is slow at a pedestrian crossing and the lights have turned to flashing amber do you.
  • wait patiently until they have safely crossed the road
  • rev your engine to encourage them to be quicker
  • ride around the old bastard

I could hardly read this for laughing. :lol :lol :lol :lol

Is it me of has the general standard of driving gotten noticeably worse in the last 6 months..?

Its not just the last 6 months, I think its been declining for years. Millions of vehicles out on the roads these days without tax/insurance/mot/licence

I'm sorry but I just can't believe that's true. With all the ANPR camera about these days and the DVLAs  ability to check and fine you digitally I find it hard to believe there are too many on the road compared to the late 80s early 90s.
My old man for one was driving since before I was born but never took his test until I was around 10, and he wasn't you only one. Back then we all knew plenty of people that just drove without anything as you had to be caught by the police and physically checked out.
These days the only people that drive about like that are the delinquent criminals and foreigners who pretend they have no clue.

I think (as with most things) you are all getting older and therefore everything that comes after you isn't as good in your opinion (just like the music)😉 but the truth being I doubt many of you would pass a modern driving test without extra training 😜

Yes, 2008, and the Mail. But cant see that much has changed since then

I think you're dead right there pal,I would hate to have to take my car or bike test again, you actually thought it was hard back in the day but when I tell my kids what was required in either they can't believe how easy it was! I know we can't compare decades but with no theory/CBT etc it really was a piece of piss.I'd gladly take the old tests though. :lol

People who haven't got the patience to wait for their dog to have a piss or a sniff and take some kind of warped pleasure in pulling the lead as hard as they can, yanking his/her neck.  :finger :foc

Everyone to his own I've always put a bit on the pins just because the pads move along them,it might not do anything but I've done it for years now,it's probably a habit. ;)

Yeh the original Yamaha 'ends seem lovely and heavy.  I wonder if I wreck the Renthals trying to tap them will some aftermarket 'expanding' type still fit..?
I've got a cheap pillar drill in the garage which will hopefully do the switchgear holes, if I can manage to mark the right spot.  I'm just putting it off really!

Don't know if the gen1 bars are the same but the I.D. of the gen2 bars are bigger than the renthals and the renthal bar ends I've got don't fit the std bars, they're to small, the expanding part even on full is to small and you can just pull them out.
