To misquote the bard:

Ask your bud Dazza, he explained it in eloquent prose "do you think it's the shit colour"  :\

I have never seen such an extensive list of modifications on a bike!

What does is the end result - is it set up for the track, or for comfortably circumnavigating the world?

The end result bud is that it's faster, better handling, more comfortable & hence more fun than most others  8)

Sorry but think it is time you were invited to leave the forum, think you just went beyond the pail.

It's pale not pail. Do you realise the irony in that statement.

Gen 2 owners:
I fitted a Penske racing shock in 2007, a top quality item & was very pleased with it & used it for 3 years. It needed servicing so I tried an R1 triple clicker with a Satans adaptor. It felt just as good as the very expensive Penske & at less than £200 allin it was a bargain. I didn't bother with the Penske after that. Probably a similar scenario to the R6 shock mod for the gen1

Those stacks that I sold to Luke definitely increase the power & torque in the midrange.
Very useful therefore to the gen2. They do not however, add anything at 9k plus as verified by my dyno runs.
Simply put, longer intakes increase midrange, shorter increase topend. You can't have both with this airbox.

Thanks for the advice, it's appreciated, but it's no use to me now. Can't see the point of hanging on for the sake of an extra few hundred. New bike due next week so need the space. I thought when I first put it up that it'd sell but I was wrong, c'est la vie

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Fuel gage
« on: 29 April 2014, 09:47:24 pm »
Sometimes in scotland or wales then we could maybe get caught short of fuel but generally speaking i don't see stopping for fuel all that bad a thing...nice to stretch the legs and stuff and i personally feel much more in control after just a brief on/off stop.

That's very true, Noggy, but if you've got a small tank, you stop at petrol stations. I don't want to stop at petrol stations for a breather, I want to stop at the top of a mountain or some other scenic place.

This is the thing that the bike manufacturers just don't get at the moment. Yes, it's good for weight centralisation and handling, it's also a way round the problem of having massive air boxes these days, but practically, it's a monumental pain in the arse.

My commute is 110 miles, so if I had a bike that only does 130 miles to a tank, I'd have to fill up every day, or 5 times a week instead of 3, which is an complete waste of time. When I'm going 300 miles North for a visit, it would mean two fillups, not one, and when I'm touring to the South of France, it means I have to stop 5 times instead of 3.

If the open class MotoGP bikes can have 22 litre tanks and the Isle of Man TT bikes can have 24 litre tanks, why can't road bikes?

It's the like of these posts why I'll not regret one bit leaving the fazer fold  :wall

Aye, & just to add a cruel twist to this saga it looks like the sale has fell through (he didn't turn up) so will be putting it up for offers. You'd have probably been able to afford it afterall.  :\
You're getting a bargain with Chris's so you've done okay.
The pc3 will be under one of the seats.

The problem for you bud is that you need a pc3 & ignition module to use the quickshifter. You'd be lucky to get change out of £500 secondhand.

Well. Is the noggy soap opera finally over?
Ifso & I think it may be, then congrats on a great purchase. You'll find it a big leap forward from the 6, endless power, excellent handling & with a real presence. So don't bother taking it easy, thrash the fukker, otherwise why bother buying it, it ain't a Harley  ;)

« on: 21 April 2014, 08:58:24 pm »
For sale a top quality rear shock for the gen2.
Preload, adjustable ride height, rebound damping & remote compression adjuster.
It needs a service before use (about £100) but is in immaculate condition otherwise.
I've attached a google pic for reference.
It cost me over £500 so am looking at £160 +£20 postage or best offer.
cheers
