Man, if I had the cash I'd be all over this, looking to replace the fazer, probably next year (or after July if I smash it at Dirt quake, lol)

One thing nobody's mentioned is temperature, somebody kicked off a while ago on a sports bike forum because their super sticky expensive sports tyres were slipping all over the shop scaring them and losing all confidence in corners- quite simply it wasn't possible for him to get them up to the required temperature on the road and for the time of year in order for them to start gripping.
Sports touring tyres these days are extremely well suited to our roads and temperatures, the better weather over the weekend would have made a difference though!
stay with that type imo!

I remember replacing the clutch on my thundercat with a full etc replacement, had if on and off a couple of times, checked the springs and strangely enough 3 were ever so slightly shorter than the other 3, so I refitted alternating them, had no problems that way but they were stiff as hell (that'll be ordering the heavy duty version) so replaced the original Springs!

Yep, stand corrected on the stopping at the 2's, website doesn't show 110's for the 4's though!

PR3s. Do they now make a PR4 for the front size?
No, not for the standard fazer sizing they don't!
PR2's were the last ones to have a 110!
Yup, they make a PR4 for the front. Blinding grip in the wet (currently fitted) but it's still the only front tyre I've ever managed to lock up in the feckin dry (on the Fazer) on more than one occasion   :groan

« on: 11 April 2016, 10:16:58 pm »

Tbh, on this bike that's not really a problem as you'll be able to get 40 miles before refilling when the light comes on, but I can understand the frustration on sort of not knowing!

(edited on account of being incorrect about the sender working ok)

So just to be clear, are you saying that with a full tank of fuel the low fuel level light is still on?

Yep, this is standard and is a load of cock!
Have several non fault claims and you're considered such a high risk you're uninsurable on an SRAD 750 which you have to sell and buy a fzs 600!

Forcefield ones are thicker than standard ones (which one would assume is better for protection) so if your jacket is already tight fitting take that into consideration as it'll be even tighter!

Throttle not snapping back does sound like either the throttle tube has something fouling it or the cable has snapped or come off- it's pretty easy to take off the tank and investigate!

Anything possible but it's doubtful, there is greater adjustment available at the carb end so looks like you need to get the tank off and have a look.
After fitting my T'cat front end the cables are too long (both fazer and t'cat ones) I'm at maximum adjustment but still have a lot of throttle play, changing the distance sounds like you're in a similar position to me but as your bars aren't so extreme you should be able to get rid of the play at the carbs

There's two points of adjustment for the cable- one is on the cable a couple of inches away from the throttle, the other is more fiddly down at the carbs.
With regards to 'snapping back' it's dead easy to use excess glue or whatever sticky substance you used on the grips which fouls the throttle tube and the bar!
