you could shorten the silencer. that would make it louder.

I had to back up the hospital today, I now have DVT in my leg, I have to have injections in my stomach and a scan on Monday. then the nurse says I should stop walking with the crutches today, that would be nice if I could actually support my weight on my left leg.

The damage you mentioned in the first post is probably heading towards £1000 at dealer rates. Add in the top box, brackets and rear cowling and your in the £1500-2000 category. I would suggest over 50% of the value of the bike now so makes it uneconomical for them.

Buy it back and fix it up yourself.
parts come to £1284 plus labour, that is going by Suttons prices so local dealer will be cheaper.
the only part i'm struggling with at the moment is a rear seat cowl in red.
without the top box the price goes down to £365

that bike was registered 01/03/2007, so the dealer was telling the truth as it is most likely a 2005MY but must have been stood for a while

I occasionally hear a noise from the exup motor, my fuel pump rarely makes a noise unless the fuel pipes or carbs are empty.

I am even more angry, when the scum cut the rack they also cut into the seat cowl so I have to get a replacement one of those as well

A few years a go I was given a fiat 127 which as you know was the yugo father, so I was towed along country roads at speed till I got the car to my sisters, to save trying to turn the car we lifted the back of the car to change its direction when both wheels fell outwards, my work colleague who gave us the car forgot to tells he had undone the rear top strut mounts!! And to think I was being towed along a country road at speeds of over 40mph!!

Thankfully the police had the keys, they returned them to me this afternoon. As to speed the traffic was at walking speed, I was doing 25mph max as there was cars coming in my direction so was preparing to move to my left and match the road speed and I was well over so I wasn't close to the cars at the time of the accident, the road speed limit is 40mph.
Annoyingly bennets will only recover my bike if they take it back to Surrey which is a long way from Swindon and another way to not see my bike again, but at the moment it is on the path near to where the accident occurred so I'm hoping no one has taken the bike.

« on: 19 September 2014, 10:40:12 am »
I was filtering past very slow moving traffic when a cage decides to do a u turn, anyway he hit my left foot and ankle, luckily I did manage to keep the bike upright, he did say he saw me coming but didn't have the sense to think I wouldn't be that long, luckily I have not broke any bones just a crush injury, my foot and knee is very swollen.
The police or ambulance service have managed to lose my keys doesn't help.
The damage to my bike is a left foot rest hanger, foot rest and gearlevee, there maybe some small damage to where the footrest hanger bikts to the frame.

Whats the individual coil route ? I did not know this was an option on a gen1. the plug cap looked ok but i'll double check
It is a mod using stick coils off a honda cbr600, some kawasakis and suzukis, may  the later FZ1 coils will fit depending on the resistance.

Have a look at the plug cap itself, on mine I had a low running issue which was fine above 3k, the problem was the pin inside the cap had corroded, I have gone the individual coil route so no more plug leads on my bike.

I have just received my tax disc from dvla and on there it mentions about not needing to display a tax disc, the other thing it says is when you sell a vehicle the tax stops then, when you send off the log book you will get a refund, that means the new owner will need to tax the vehicle before using it, so now it is a waste of time and money taxing a vehicle as a sweetener if you are going to sell it.

I doubt it as the angle of the downpipes and the size of the outlet would be different.

They seem to be good with no lag in the wet motives as of yet, the pads tool the glaze off the discs so I can't comment on disc wear yet, they have plenty of power and they do have reasonable feel.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Which Coolant?
« on: 07 August 2014, 04:31:25 pm »
I use vauxhall coolant mixed with distilled water in my bike, it is a long life antifreeze and is designed with alluminium in mind. I do get it cheap so if you are local to swindon I can get you some
Asda do the distilled water cheap.

My bike has 74k miles and I have no issues with it, I have had a honda cx500 a few years a go with 95k miles which apart from worn valve guides it was rattle free and reliable, I have no issue with high mileage.
