Cheers Coffee.
I fitted it yesterday afternoon; it looks awesome and is really comfy.
I'll try and get some pics of it fitted today if the bloody rain will ease off for 5 minutes  :'(

Finally, after a couple of issues with the guy selling it in the States, then it being held in customs until I paid an extra £50, the Mustang seat for the Virago 1100 has landed.

It's in really good nick considering its age and after a good scrub with vinyl cleaner and then a deep polish, it's come up a treat!!

Hope the following link to my Google Drive works!!!

Pretty cool Dude.
Loving the wheels and triple exhausts.

Here's the bike I lusted after for the longest time and still think looks the coolest of the race replicas ever made.

Nice follow up Steve.
A real shame that a genuinely good family man was taken away before his time.
I guess if it is your time to go there are worse ways........

I had a very similar issue when touring in Lake District a couple of years ago and it turned out to be the sidestand switch.
Any slight bump in the road would cut out the bike.
I'd get off put it on the sidestand and it would, obviously, start straight away.
Try putting the stand down next time it cuts out and see what happens.

Forgot to mention I also bought a second hand Mustang seat from the USA for the Virago too.
Costing quite a few quid on postage (£70+) but the seat was cheap in the first place (£100) so, all in all, still a bit of a bargain.
Can't wait to get it and fit it.

More servicing on the Virago 1100.
New iridium plugs fitted, replaced the air filter and changed the shaft final drive oil.
Also extended my garden hosepipe to reach into the rear alley where my garage opens on to and gave it a good wash and then polished the painted bits with MER polish.
Came up a treat for a 21 year old bike.
Just got to change the engine oil and filter and balance the carbs now.

Bloody hell Paul.
This the road we took back to Pontypool at that exact time yesterday!!!!
Must have happened just behind us.

Poor bugger.
Yet another biker taken away and not his fault by the sound of it.

You've got to feel for the old guy driving the Range Rover too as he's probably in bits.
Mind you, it does strengthen the argument for more frequent driving tests above a certain age.

I'm 100% with Ogri on the MCT thing.
He took me down there to get mine done and it was just in time apparently as the sludge was indeed grinding the inner walls away.

New oil, bushes and springs replaced, together with suspension settings set, all as recommended by Darren at MCT, as he has done dozens of Gen 1 thous, and my bike now handles superbly.
Money well spent.

Checked the plugs and set the tickover on my Virago 1100.
Just need to change the air filter and balance the carbs next to make sure it runs right and smooth.
Love the difference between the silky smooth turbine-like inline four on my Gen 1 thou and this "talkative" vee twin  :lol

....or, as is the case with the car park next to the Premier Inn in Lichfield, it only takes cash and it doesn't give change so you have to put in the exact amount, which is something silly like £5.80 for 24 hours.

One question - how did you attach so many pics to the one post?
I can never attach more than a couple at a time.

Welcome back to the fold.
You never know what you've got, or had in this case, until it's gone and/or you get another one.
They are fantastic bikes aren't they?

Took the Virago 1100 to Steel Horse Cafe near Abergavenny and met up with Paul (OGRI48) on his Fat Boy.
A great hour and a half or so spent drinking coffee, catching up and looking at the other bikes that had turned up  8) :)
