Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Worn exup valve
« on: 17 February 2016, 11:21:06 am »
Hey guys can anyone help me out I've been told that my exup valve is worn at each end to a extent it that the imperfections can't be machined out and still leave bought material,  I've been on fowlers and see that the new valve is 350 odd,

Is there ANY other option for new?

Or

Will any other modes fit so I can broaden my second hand search

Thank you

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Exup valve queary

Good eveing fine ladies and gentlemen,

Done a wee search and found lots on the not so hassle free exup valve hoever i could quite find the answer i was looking for!

I have just bought a well serviced fazer 1000 gen one on 37k, runs beautfully pulls as she should. On the 300 mile run home at the one and only fuel stop (impressed) she flicked up the 7k exup error inditcation. Knowing the bike had stood for a month or two, when I got home I decided to service the valve and see where the fault lay. I was blessed with all the bolts comeing away freely they had clearing be serviced regulary in the past. Valve was slightly sticky and cables where slack as you know what. Greased it all up and bunged it back together going by the tutroial I found on here.

Now, ever since she has a rattle at around 2-5k fromt he exup as soon as i power on it goes.

I have read a few probably causes....

1. Cables to slack?
2. Worn bush / bushes?

I will check cables again tomorrow as its only really started since i stripped it...

My main question is, if as i suspect the bushes are worn... regardless of cost, should I buy OEM bushes or shall I get two made up by a local engineering shop?

I'm not trying to save a few quid, I was worried if I shell out for oem bushes, do the VALVE'S themself wear? Could OEM bushses still be slack?

Has any got any expeirience?

Or

The thickness of the valves as new perhaps?

FZ6 / Fazer / Fz6 tyre time help!!
« on: 25 September 2015, 09:10:32 pm »
Hey all,
My 07 bike currently has matching Bridgestone bt021 which I had brand new mileage wise I'm very happy I've Nearly 7k out of the rear, fronts just starting to slope roundabout wear from a lot of town riding, I have however never had complete confidence in the front! Despite current wear It has always felt light and like it has a bit of a drop off when leaning over a bit on a faced over ride. Has anyone else had this issue? Is it my tyres or my bike, it's 26k now bearing or suspension issues. Completely standard bike! Worth mentioning it's not the 07- bike it's 04-07. Thank you!!

FZ6 / Fazer / Shitting issues
« on: 08 April 2015, 10:23:58 pm »
Hi all got a really annoying issue when I'm going through the box at random points the lever will go slack...  Example
Coming back down 3rd-2nd I'll select down and 2nd will engage but then I go for first the lever will move but no select unless I put my foot under it and ever so slightly lift. Then go down again and I get first. It does the exact same in reverse going up the gears. It isn't constant and it is not specific to any gear, I've cleaned the complete linkage  still no joy
Seems some one else had the same thing and filmed it

Any ideas guys
