I have a FZS600 Box eye 2000 model.

I picked it up cheap for the princely sum of 200 quid (came with rear paddock and a mig welder too)

Problem is I haven't got any history of it other than the person I bought it off, he left it sitting because he couldn't do it up.
He said it got left in a hedge for 6 years due to it over heating, and as far as I'm aware it's all original, bar an aftermarket chainguard/hugger.

But as I only have 1 key I don't want to snap it, but is there a way to remove the tank cap without unlocking it? Tanks absolutely mint for what it's worth so don't want to buy another.

Ive been Plusgas-ing down the lock hoping it will free but to no avail.

Any ideas?

Hi, I have bought a 2000 plate box eye model, paid a very good price for it and its been sitting in a hedge for the past 6 years.
I know it has cracked carb rubbers which I know is an issue on these, anything else which its known to have problems with?
Brakes need a good clean up and the engine paint needs redoing as its apparently over heating and got told head gasket.  (although I think its more likely the radiator being jet washed within an inch of its life and has hardly any fins lol).

And any mods which don't cost the earth to do that make it worthwhile to Sell if I do decide to?
