FZS600 Fazer / RPM Signal
« on: 21 June 2015, 08:02:44 am »
Hello!
Suddenly my old gauges stopped showing me the revs. No problem, cause the new speedometer just arrived.
But, after the install of the new speedo, everithing works just fine, except the revs!
I tried to follow the yellow/black wire and see where it goes but it's a pain. I'll end up striping the entire electrical on my bike.
Can you tell me where I can get RPM Signal and just ignore the factory yellow/black cable?

A few photos of my "Cafe/Fighter" Fazer. Still a lot to be done...

FZS600 Fazer / Using the front wheel sensor with an aftermarket speedo
« on: 14 December 2014, 06:59:53 pm »
Hello!
I want after market gauges!

I bought a used Acewell Ace-2701 with no sensors. This is not a problem, I can buy a cheep reed switch and use it.

I made a test removing the gauges and nothing happened, the bike runs the same. So, maybe is the wheel sensor which affects the running.
I want to keep the factory front wheel sensor in place wired to the Ecu/Ignition/whatever.

I wonder if I can use the factory front wheel sensor because I don't want extra wires/metal plates around the wheel.

As I know the factory front wheel sensor is a Hall sensor with 3 wires. One is ground, one is power and one is signal. It gives you different voltage values as the wheel spin.
The sensor used for the Acewell in my case is a Reed Switch with 2 wires. It act as a switch => On/Off.
Is there any way I can adapt the signal from a Hall sensor and transform it in a On/Off signal?

FZS600 Fazer / Clutch problems
« on: 16 March 2014, 06:12:09 pm »
Hello all!
My problem:
I bought an accidented bike with no clutch lever. After all the painting and rebuild, the bike is almost ready. Now comes the fun part. I put the new lever, start the bike on the center stand and when I try to squeze the clutch lever I have to apply a lot of force.
I opened the clutch cover, the friction plates were a bit stuck, I cleaned them, perform a oil change, but nothing, can't squeeze the lever. I have 2 options when adjusting from the lever nut or clutch cover nut, ON and OFF. :D  Eighter is too loose and nothing happend when I squeeze the lever, eighter is verry tight and again, almost nothing happens when I hardly squeeze it, except a little friction sound coming from the clutch cover. Eighter way,
If I try to press the metal rod (the one marked with red) with my hand I can't. The problem starts from it, how much force is normal to be used to push it?
I can't use the clutch. Any ideas?

FZS600 Fazer / Headlight opinion
« on: 24 May 2013, 05:30:01 pm »
Hello!
New guy here!  :)
I bought an accidented FZS and I am in the middle of rebuild process.
I like this headlight:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400442015100?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2648

But, can't find any review. Nowhere!
Are the 2x25W bulbs too week for a decent illumination? Anybody?
Thank you!
